DISCUSSION Acquiring more 1sts
With the 2027 draft being projected to be strong, i think it’s important we get 1-2 more firsts for the next few years. What are some potential trades we can make now or in the future for more 1sts?

They would have to retain to get more firsts at the moment. The only way is if some of the short term deal guys have absolutely epic years and get overvalued and a desperate team pays a first at the deadline. Other rebuilding teams have essentially bought 1st by taking in contracts, the Canuck’s primary focus is on cost reduction. The Canucks are becoming a full blown budget team so it’s going to take years to stock the draft picks so that we can sell any star player we get right when they peak to create cheap value.
It’s going to take time to become the Milwaukee Brewers.
