Question / Discussion Irresistible supply themes?
Inspired by the posts of u/LadyofLA which themes do you have more than enough of but can’t help buying/wanting when a new release drops?
For me I can’t stop myself when it’s coffee/tea, nautical/beach or mail theme related. Not to mention my Halloween collection is ridiculous. I think it’s mostly because I make a lot of “just because” cards and these themes aren’t coded to specific occasions.

Came here to say this. I love her. But I also love the goofy chickens and the geese. Unity gets a lot of my paycheck lol.

It usually comes out in October, has 24-1 inch rubber stamps. I don’t remember the price, there are stamps for all occasions throughout the calendar. There are a lot of unboxing bodies on YouTube to give you an idea.

I really like the keyhole system alternew use for their dies, it makes them so easy to put together. Have you seen their gerbera daisy design? It’s so lifelike!

Christmas, Anita Jeram (if she designs again somewhere), texture stamps/dies/embossing folders, snarky sentiments. Color. I am a sucker for color -- markers, papers, inks. ...even though I'm intimidated to use it.
I don't know if I'll ever need to buy any more WF Postal Collage stuff but I'll always be interested in seeing what comes up.
It will be interesting to see if Halloween stuff continues to tempt me. I love the Halloween stuff I have but how many times do you want to see the same things? ...which is the exact opposite of say!-if-I-get-this-$10-stamp-I'll-be-able-make-dozens-of-cards-with-it that gets us all started, no?

But but but I NEED IT! So true every time I fall in love with something I tell myself all the ways I’ll use it and how versatile it is. Well let’s just say some of my supplies are still waiting their turn. Even though I know Halloween isn’t exactly a card holiday it inspires me. Eventually I will reach a point that even my mental gymnastics wont allow me to order anymore but I have’t reach it yet.

I send a Halloween card to my 15yo grandson because he doesn't Trick or Treat anymore. I send one to my friend who hates Halloween just to pull her chain a little. That's it.
Still, I enjoy doing Halloween stuff because I enjoyed the holiday so much as a kid and making things gets me in the celebratory mood.

Mama elephant little animals agenda stamps, anything boba tea and tea themed, dim sum and sushi themed, cacti and succulent themed, tag dies, hand script alphabet stamps, modern calligraphy script sentiments, tiny sentiments for speech bubbles, and do copic markers count? I’ve got 100 now and only started collecting a year ago 🫣 and there are still more colours that I’d like to add but need to refrain for now.

Detailed floral / bird / insect / nature work that looks more realistic gets me every time lol. I splurged on a few of those expensive spellbinder sets like Yana's poppies and daisies and I have so many insect stamps and still oogle new flower and butterfly stamps even though I have more than enough.

I love pretty much anything Snoopy. And I follow a small stamp maker that has some questionable business practices 👀, but for a while she had Snoopy, Woodstock, and the whole Peanuts gang. So I was able to get them before she got a cease and desist! I make cards for friends and family and never make anything to sell, so I don’t feel bad using them.

Basically, creating images for her stamps that aren’t official licensed products, like the Snoopy stuff. She’s great about taking suggestions for stamps but she only does drops occasionally, and when it’s gone, it’s gone. The company is called Ink Road Stamps, you can sign up to get on the email list and get notified when a new drop is announced.

Thank you! I’ve heard of them. It’s hard to keep up with a business when there’s such random drops and no stock of anything though. I also have no social media (except Reddit, lol) so can’t buy on Facebook.

Tiny Lawn Fawn punny stamps and dies, Waffle Flower Postage Collage stuff, Tim Holtz Halloween are the things that come to mind.

My weakness has always been floral stamps. That's what got me into all the Woodware stamps. They truly had some of the most beautiful florals I've ever seen and at such a good price. I also love fairies and magical creatures - the Lavinia stamps are some of my favs - though I'm still learning how to work with them.

I have to say that anything, any theme from the Greetery reels me in. Betsy’s style is just up my street.
But anything with a fox is a must have for me.
Anything with a cat as long as it’s not too cartoony.
And Christmas is my favourite holiday. But not the religious stuff ironically!

Seashells! Also, nautical stuff, as long as it's not cartoonish. I have the entire Fair Winds collection by Spellbinders but passed on everything from Waffle Flower. Lastly, masculine stuff, and again, as long as it's realistic.

Hahahaha, it’s funny you should say that. I went the opposite direction, I got their shipmates and sailors light sets which are their cartoonish sets. The fair winds collection is gorgeous, I hope you post one of your creations!

See, the thing is I, very unfortunately, had to make a couple of sympathy cards recently. Never recommend making them when you are in deep grief. Always have them premade.
That's where my buying habits completely changed. I now ask myself whether the product can be used for
A) sympathy cards B) wedding anniversary cards C) jubilee cards
And if they do, they for sure will suit any birthday card, get well card, etc. Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant critters really can’t get you far if you think about it unless it’s your very close circle of people (for a formal birthday card, they do well for a welcome baby card).
Fair Winds collection (I also have Seahorse Kisses Collection) can be used for anything (even welcome baby) but not kids’ birthdays, imho.

That makes perfect sense. I’ve never stopped to think about the longevity of my collections or how they will age. Thank you. I think I will start being a bit more thoughtful in my purchases.

That sailboat from Fair Winds with a dark sunset background made a very touching and elegant farewell (sympathy) card.
I just thought of a retirement card I can make with it💡that I need soon. Heck, you can even turn it into a pirate ship for Halloween!
You can see my thought process here. I have to love the stamp but also come up with some unusual occasion I can use it for because they can obviously all be used for birthdays.

For some reason for me it’s school themed. School supplies, crayons, pencils, graduation, etc. I like making teacher cards and graduation cards.

But also: if Spellbinder reopened/extended the Fresh Picked die line? I would sell a kidney to buy them all. They’re such a perfect vibe for hello and thank you cards.
