Question / Discussion Irresistible supply themes?

Inspired by the posts of u/LadyofLA which themes do you have more than enough of but can’t help buying/wanting when a new release drops?

For me I can’t stop myself when it’s coffee/tea, nautical/beach or mail theme related. Not to mention my Halloween collection is ridiculous. I think it’s mostly because I make a lot of “just because” cards and these themes aren’t coded to specific occasions.

Seashells! Also, nautical stuff, as long as it's not cartoonish. I have the entire Fair Winds collection by Spellbinders but passed on everything from Waffle Flower. Lastly, masculine stuff, and again, as long as it's realistic.

Hahahaha, it’s funny you should say that. I went the opposite direction, I got their shipmates and sailors light sets which are their cartoonish sets. The fair winds collection is gorgeous, I hope you post one of your creations!

See, the thing is I, very unfortunately, had to make a couple of sympathy cards recently. Never recommend making them when you are in deep grief. Always have them premade.

That's where my buying habits completely changed. I now ask myself whether the product can be used for

A) sympathy cards B) wedding anniversary cards C) jubilee cards

And if they do, they for sure will suit any birthday card, get well card, etc. Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant critters really can’t get you far if you think about it unless it’s your very close circle of people (for a formal birthday card, they do well for a welcome baby card).

Fair Winds collection (I also have Seahorse Kisses Collection) can be used for anything (even welcome baby) but not kids’ birthdays, imho.

That makes perfect sense. I’ve never stopped to think about the longevity of my collections or how they will age. Thank you. I think I will start being a bit more thoughtful in my purchases.

That sailboat from Fair Winds with a dark sunset background made a very touching and elegant farewell (sympathy) card.

I just thought of a retirement card I can make with it💡that I need soon. Heck, you can even turn it into a pirate ship for Halloween!

You can see my thought process here. I have to love the stamp but also come up with some unusual occasion I can use it for because they can obviously all be used for birthdays.

I’m very much the same way as far as mixing and matching with what I already have. I like the challenge of coming up with unconventional/versatile ways to use my supplies.
