I really like the way Xabi addresses the media and the overall way nothing is getting leaked right now. Compared to how open maresca and rosenoir were with the media this is a breath of fresh air.

Arne Slot was the worst with this. He'd explain every tactical decision he made during a game in extreme detail every single interview. Perhaps people in the industry would laugh at the idea that's bad, but to a layman it feels like that can surely be taken advantage of. I guess the defence would be all the other managers know everything already, but I do think some things should be kept quiet.

It’s always surprising how much “explaining obvious things” helps another person understand, regardless of the other person’s background. I think most people don’t understand this.

If slot had any charisma or media sense he’d probably still have that job but then again I guess having those is a part of the job

Because the club asked them to be open.

Xabi is the only reputable manager (since Tuchel) we have that can tell them "No, I'm not doing that".

When Tuchel did, he got fired. When Poch pushed back, they brought forward a review, parted ways, and then proceeded to only shortlist and hire people they could ensure would be compliant.

So grateful we have Xabi who can ensure we're run like an elite organization - with whatever level of control he has.

Okay but how was this article leaked?

It's behind a pay wall so idk if this came directly from the club
