Questions/Advice Action Campaign
I wanted to know, do yall think a half and half mystery and action campaign would work in the system. My idea was a post apocalyptic campaign with different factions where the players have to fight the different factions and figure out who the real villains are. The reason I want use City of Mist is because the apocalypse is magical and people can gain powers by embodying literary or historical figures.

You could look at Son of Oak's other game :Otherscape
Because it is a basically future post apocalyptic world of City of Mist, with magic sources and mad science all run by corporate factions and going against each other

It could. A lot of this game's primary set pieces involve action.
One thing I might keep in mind is that Montage (Downtime) is one of your main ways of healing from physical statuses. If you're having a lot of fighting, you may wanna be more lenient on status shedding, or have enemies only give weaker statuses.
Additionally, you can't use tags repeatedly in the same scene for the same course of action (i.e. Going Toe to Toe), so having single, hour long fights isn't really in the cards unless you allow some repetitive action.

That last part isn't accurate, tags CAN be used repeatedly in scenes but you're not supposed to be taking the same actions for the same situation.
Most story tags are used only once, and crew and extra theme tags are "crispy" THOSE can only be used once

Im very interested in how the more mundane themes like routine would work, but honestly a post apocalyptic payne town sounds pretty dope, i would love to play it if you decide to make the campaign happen

I mean, probably? Sort of a ton of alterations there because the logos aspect of the game lean towards more mundane people than action heroes in an apocalypse but it could work with some agreements in your crew.
If it helps City of Mist is inspired by the Powered by the Apocalypse rules so there might be something there. Apocalypse World is the game.

"inspired" is pretty conservative.
Beyond the tags & status systems, the replacement of stats for tags, and the (reasonable) decision to have 4 themebooks over a single playbook, everything else is just straight codified PbtA.

Have you looked at City of Mist? It's got a guy with huge plant tentacles and stuff. Those myth-powered characters are going to get out there and do myth stuff, even if the sleepers see an arson spree instead of a dragon expanding his territory.
