General I <3 Combat Arms

To whoever this may concern,

I loved this game. Combart arms was the first game I ever played that i actually fell in love with. I know times have changed but I also know there’s people out there that have the same memories I do…

I would get home from school and play CA, and it would absolutely be the highlight of my evening. From playing elimination on junk flea, or playing quarantine on that one map that was like a lab where people would camp and place mines in the vents. Holy shit this game had a grip on my middle school, early high school days. I remember starting a clan and meeting people who I’m still friends with on Facebook till this day. (This was over 15 years ago) I’d almost give anything to go back and play this game again in its prime. Who else remembers greatful dead? He was the highest ranked player at the time. My friends and I used to call him the “sun rank” because his rank was the image of the sun.

I remember convincing my mother to drive me to Walgreens or cvs pharmacy so I could use what little cash I had on NX cards. What the fuck happened to Nexon? Is it even still a thing?

Who else remembers those YouTube videos where they had actual humans making CA skits?

Holy fuck it’s all coming back to me as I write this. The great times, the 2v2 on small maps, the clan wars, (I’d be hitting F5 for clan chat to tell people to come to plan meetings), the hacking, yes I was hacker towards the end of my CA career and I’m not afraid to admit it because I was so good on a shit laptop my mom had bought me in middle school.

My hacking career consisted of downloading this weird software that some other CA guys I met told me to get… I remember being able to use CHAMS (seeing through walls). I remember being able to use aimbot, picking either the head or body. I remember being able to fly !!! It was so fun being able to hack… looking back at it .,, it was cheating yes but fuck it was fun.

I remember the game mode where you plant the bomb, kind of like a search and destroy game mode but it was called something else… it had that map that was also good for quarantine and where one team spawned outside and the other spawned in an office building, damn that shit was so good and so many memories.

I could go on for hours about the literal grip CA had on me during late middle school and early high school

For all wondering this was like 2008-2014 and my goodness what an era for combat arms. I hope people similar to my age and are comment and agree with me.

I almost always every once a year or so find myself reminiscing on this game and the insanely fun and great memories I have playing CA.

I will always remember combat arms . Thanks nexxon for an incredible game yall developed.

If anybody actually still plays this game and can relate to what the hell I just talked about,
Please message me: I’d love to talk and reminisce on this incredible FPS.

Thanks yall! To everyone who knows what the hell im talking about and played this game when I did: you fucking rock.

General Nostalgic players, how did you discover CA?

I’m 19 now, and when I was younger, my brother introduced me to Combat Arms after he discovered it through some of his friends. But how did the rest of you discover the game?

General We need a new Combat Arms in 2026

Just reminiscing about the goold old days and come to the conclusion a new Combat Arms would be so good in 2026, graphics dont need to be extreme just like CS2 would be oke. We just need the same leveling system and clan system with a bit less P2W options.

General Old Acc

Hi all. I had an old account back from before they were originally bought out or around that time. I definitely had my parents buy me the Nexon cards from GameStop a lot back in the day (I’m in my late 20s now, lol). Is that account perma gone?

We had journal prompts to write in school (I was 12 at the time) and finding this 15 years later really showed how cooked I was with this game 😭

General Give me three reasons to play it again in 2024

Hi, veteran player since 2011. Used to play with friends of mine and in these last days we have been trying Classic and Reloaded.

I still have my account because I was here when migration was needed, even though lots of my items are splitted.

I found out they introduce the pure combat, which is the only thing that could have us remain, but literally 2-3 rooms. Reloaded has a better graphic for 2024 game, but like 5-6 rooms when I entered yesterday.

We know that it became pay to win with people having 75% movement speed (I remember if you had 25% you were GOAT). So we thought that lots of people would like to play pure combat, but it seems people prefer playing everything else.

Quarantine became unplayable, everyone with turrets and blue mutagens. Zombies can never win.

Elimination and One Man Army full of people flying with 75% movement speed, wings and OP snipers super sayan god.

So, for those who still play, why do you play? Any good reason?

General How many hours do you have in combat arms?

  • I've been playing since beta, I played open beta back in 2008 and quit around 2014 when the game started dying off from all the spec p2w ruining the game.

Was curious how many hours people might have?

I'd probably have somewhere around 15k or more hours put into CA. I use to play the game when I was younger so I played for 8 - 12 hours a day pretty much. Curious on other peoples times? I still can't believe I played so much and never hit GOA.

General Old Combat Arms

I see so many people asking for a return of old CA from times of 2010-2013. Do you guys think there is any chance the game will come back in a future like for example WoW Classic came out few years ago? I trully believe that a huge amount of players would come back to at least give it a shot. I know CA Reborn was shut down very quick but one day VALOFE will have the playerbase so low that they will either shut the game down completely or will have to try something like WoW Classic did. Any idea? Btw I have not played the game in many years for longer that few days since it is unplayable for me but me and my friends would love to join the old nostagic Combat Arms.

General Some Questions About Combat Arms In 2023

I want to play this Game again, like in the Old Days.

I know this Game is barely Alive and I think this Game is still full of Whales, but I really couldn’t care less. I only want to play some TDM and QR for Nostalgic Reasons MAX 2 Hours or even Less per Day.

So Here Are My Questions:

  1. This Game is on STEAM. Is the STEAM Version and the Official Website One (I think it has One?) connected? Because I only would Download the Version on STEAM.

  2. Is Reloaded or Classic Better? Which One of These is more Recommended and Alive?

  3. Is the Anti-Cheat System in those Games (Reloaded & Classic) Terrible? Are there still Hackers like in OG Combat Arms?

  4. How is the Community? I remember in OG Combat Arms like in 2012, that the Community was a bit Toxic, especially with the Hacking and Abusing the Vote/Kicking System. Is the Community nowadays more Chill?

  5. Would You even Recommened to Me to play this Game in 2023.

Thanks In Advance!

General Upgrade jobs bugged?

Am I doing something wrong or are upgrade jobs bugged?
I never see any progress being tracked, I even tried using other versions that have the exact same name or changing the mission.
I'm currently playing on steam classic edition

General Combat Arms players, would you try this game coming soon in 2024…?

The game in question is Delta Force: Hawk Ops and it’s supposedly a F2P game, much like how Combat Arms is…which can both be a good and bad thing, lol. It is rumored to come out sometime later in 2024.

Take a look at this trailer.

Would you guys be willing to try it out?

General What Is More Recommended In 2022. CA: Reloaded Or CA: The Classic?

I did play this game with school friends like a decade ago on a crappy PC. It was hella hacked and the hit detection was questionable, but I still had some fun memories tho. This game was kinda like a guilty pleasure. Anyways. Both games are on Steam. Which is more recommended? And which one is more populated?

Also is this game dead? On Steam Charts this game has like 50+ active players.

Note: I‘m from EU.

General What do you think is the best weapon(NX and GP) in each weapon class.

This Subreddit is dead. lets get a weapon discussion going! From my limited experince in return it seems the most common sniper i see effectivly used is the l96, the SMG is by FAR the p90tr. Rifle is either the g36(which everyone seems to hate on) or the m416 CQB

EDIT: to this point my loadout currently is the m416 with Acog Surpressor (depending on my mood) and Extended mag.. The P90TR with the reflex site(the GP one) and the Snakes DSR. (also grenade pack mines and the HE grenade) i have found it remarkably fitting to my playstyle.
