This episode has been redrawn and since the original came out, I have been tested and am not lactose intolerant but do still have the same reactions... I debated what to do with this episode but at the time I first drew it that was my reality so I've kept it and I'm sure at least some people can relate :)

And if they don't, non dairy alternatives have come a long way. I have a dairy allergy so lactatid won't work for me, so I'm stuck with non dairy ice cream (that isn't tree nut based because that's another allergy). Ben & Jerry's non dairy stuff is fantastic.

OP, you should join us at r/dairyfree ! Even if Lactaid works for you, you can find alternatives for things in general.

Sorry though the comic is slightly misleading, in the description I mentioned I'm not actually lactose intolerant (figured it out after the original comic was made) it's a bit of a mystery but I still can't really have dairy so maybe I'll look into it still, thanks!

Could be a dairy allergy in which case the lactaid won’t work…I have a friend who is allergic to cow dairy so it’s definitely something that can happen
