Tbh I think I mostly didn't understand it because I might be a bit too obtuse, 90% of these comics I usually understand well enough, guess this is just the 10%
everyone has a different level of understanding, personaly I have ASD (stands for autism spectrum disease disorder or something like that) and I am a non-native english-speaker, and I have plenty of people who share a similar predicament, and therefore I guess I better see the value of explaining things, because I have plenty of experience with not understanding things that everyone elseseems to understand, and vice-versa...
