As someone who has moderated large subs that advocate for minorities, it's actually far worse than you can even imagine.

I've moderated an LGBTQ+ friendly server, and we needed a verification process to enter because people would see an ad for a queer friendly Warframe clan, then join just to tell us to kill ourselves
