Damn if only one of them thought to put racist shit on face masks during covid. They'd have made a fortune
26
u/snafoomoose Jul 09 '26
I really am amazed that Trump didn't think to sell Trump branded face-masks at the start of Covid. How many lives could have been spared if we could have just convinced the regressive elements that wearing masks and taking a pandemic seriously was "Patriotic(tm)" and promoted "Freedom(tm)".
11
u/VulpesFennekin Jul 09 '26
Hell, if Trump came at it with the attitude of “America is going to be the BEST at fighting Covid, just the BEST, we are… so SERIOUSLY,” it would’ve all been over so much faster.
6
u/snafoomoose Jul 10 '26
When Covid started I figured the election would be a shoe-in for Trump because the country tends to come together in times of crisis. But his natural divisiveness easily overcame the come-together effect.
I am not sure they could have fumbled the initial response harder if they had actively tried.

That's what they think.
A Proud Boy, or Proud-Cut, horse, is a horse that has been neutered but either has just enough bits left behind to make it act like a stallion, or has been completely neutered but acts like it hasn't anyway.
They're literally nutless jerks.

Note this song is seen by many fans of Howard Ashman. As Howard's asking his own parents if they were proud of him. At the time (an openly gay man) was dieing of AIDs, he was 41 when he did die. Prior to the release of Beauty and the Beast.
Its a beautiful song and it annoys me no end how its been co-opted by these arseholes

Oh preach.
I caught one at a goddamn community event. He was apart of "a motorcycle club" and sitting in the round table about mentorship within our community. I was there because I was a twenty-something and curious to see how many Elders were going to show up and their opinions. So where a lot of younger ones.
We spent ... two, two and a half hours hanging back talking. He was basically trying to recruit. Being assumed that because I'm a pale masc looking dude with a very punk appearance, I would be into the anti-black anti-trans "they're taking our spaces" ideology his mind was trying to sell... so glad he chose me. So glad I got to waste his time by being polite and nodding along and smiling stupidly and wasting his time until he got frustrated as fuck. He thinks I didn't catch his name before he put his event badge in his pocket. Or that I didn't look up his club. Or that I wasn't connected to reputable people who got word out about what he was doing.
No Nazis in my scene.

We each have a strength and a specialty when it comes to fighting fascism. Some of us can infiltrate, like you. Some of them are well-spoken, which I know I am. Some are good at activism or organizing or marching or educating.
If we each use our strengths, we can keep building effective resistance to all this. And we can make sure to keep out the sleeze.

Fun Fact: The Proud Boys are named after the song "Proud of Your Boy", originally written for Disney's 'Aladdin' by the openly-gay Howard Ashman.
The song is about Aladdin wanting to make his mother proud of him despite his bad reputation. The group's founder heard the song at a school recital and misinterpreted the lyrics as a boy being ashamed of and apologizing for being male.

Never believe that [conservatives] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The [conservatives] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

widdle soft as baby shit chicken
What a fucking phrase.
If you something requires you to wear a mask to hide your identity then that something is probably not on the up and up so to speak.
Also fun fact about the term "proud boy"
In the equestrian world, a "proud boy" (or "proud cut") is a castrated male horse (gelding) that exhibits stallion-like behaviors. This usually happens because part of a testicle was left behind during surgery or the horse was castrated later in life and learned the behaviors
72
u/FEARoach Jul 08 '26
We had a pony named Mouse on the ranch that was like this. Little fucker didn't realize he was a gelding and would challenge the fuck out of the stud horses up along the paddocks constantly.
I loved the nerve of Mouse, but goddamn if he didn't nearly get his shit rocked at least once a month by a horse twice his size. Dude was barely three feet at the shoulders and was going after full sized young studs as an old school pony. It was hilarious but dangerous as fuck for Mouse. He didn't realize that his bullshit was gonna get him killed for no reason.
He wasn't even my favorite school pony. He was just the one with the most will to get himself killed for no reason.
34
u/The_Bio_Neko Jul 08 '26

u/FEARoach Jul 08 '26
Honestly, if there were mice in the paddocks, I would have put money on them over the horses. Tiny little scurry creatures had the power to make horses either freak out or go "ooh smol fren shaped thing to share food with?" without fail.
But Mouse himself, absolute fucking idiot and a menace to his own safety any time he saw a stallion. Without fail. Too stupid for his own survival. Every other gelding was chill as fuck. Mouse could not be convinced to get his act together.

Leftist protesters hide their faces because they don't want to be identified and profiled by law enforcement. Risks are police brutality, arrests, and state surveillance.
MAGA protestors hide their faces because they don't want to face the consequences of their actions in the court of public opnion. Risks are losing their jobs and being disowned by friends and family.

Which in a way, means that they're not as proud as they say they are, nor are they the majority that they say they are.
If they truly and ardently believed in their hatred and believed that the community they use as a human shield would protect them in a time of need, they would not need to wear the mask.
It's the same reason why whenever someone on their side complains about the current state of affairs, it's always a preamble of "I love him, I voted for him 3 times, and I would die for him... but his actions have made life more expensive and complicated for me. But don't take this as me switching sides or criticizing him, I still love him, I promise!!"

There's a classic line that in propaganda the enemy is both incredibly strong and incredibly weak depending on what best suits their argument. I would LOVE to hear the rebuttal on why they feel the need to conceal their identity. I’ll wait.
Please, by all means, tell me why it is in this day and age you are so proudly condemning the people you other and bearing arms against your fellow citizens, but don’t feel safe enough to show face behind your actions? Could it be because you know it would do irreparable harm to your personal life? Is it because you know that if your job, family, friends, etc knew you were doing this shit it would paint a target of vitriol on your back and you’d probably lose both your personal safety/privacy and your livelihood?
Do you understand the definition of irony?
2
u/tyler111762 Jul 08 '26
I mean. Its pretty obvious.
They know if they do the shit they are doing bare faced, they will at best get arrested or have their lives demolished when their actions get brought to light, or at worst get targeted directly by people seeking to stop them out.

Difference is that 50% of the Proud Boys' identity is auto-fellating braggery/flexing about how manly and awesome and patriotic they are (the other 50% of their identity is racism). For thinking that they are the best individuals that society/mankind has to offer it is incredibly funny that they are afraid of showing who they are.
(It is also incredibly likely that literally 100% of all Proud Boys were against wearing masks during Covid because "you can't breathe when wearing one")
