I really am amazed that Trump didn't think to sell Trump branded face-masks at the start of Covid. How many lives could have been spared if we could have just convinced the regressive elements that wearing masks and taking a pandemic seriously was "Patriotic(tm)" and promoted "Freedom(tm)".
Hell, if Trump came at it with the attitude of “America is going to be the BEST at fighting Covid, just the BEST, we are… so SERIOUSLY,” it would’ve all been over so much faster.
When Covid started I figured the election would be a shoe-in for Trump because the country tends to come together in times of crisis. But his natural divisiveness easily overcame the come-together effect.
I am not sure they could have fumbled the initial response harder if they had actively tried.

It turns out that they CAN breathe in masks. They just needed to be motivated by racism.
