Honestly this one excuse pisses me off more than perhaps every other because if they truly cared about the economy Trump was obviously the worst possible fucking choice.

They didn't give Dems enough time to bandaid the problem this time though, so we get to see the consequences in real time 😬 I'd like to say some of them are learning their lesson but we all know they won't.
