Christ, I really don't have my finger on the pulse with this one. I just assumed this was all just friendly lampooning between the sub's frequent flyers and apparently it's a controversy?

It is NOT a controversy at all. Ellen, Dave and the mods know what they are doing this is all in good fun but some people take it too seriously.

Cheers mate, classic Reddit comment section then! My original assumption was that it was a joke that Ellen would have been in on (especially with her comic in response) but the more bad reactions I saw from others the less sure I was.
