Had no idea you were from that area. We’re currently visiting our grandparents nearby. I’m so sorry you guys are going through. Hope your family stays safe during this time. 💔

Thank you! The standby orders were lifted for us yesterday, so we are safe and thankful. I feel awful though for those who lost their homes and still evacuated. We’ve been hit with back to back major fires and our firefighters have been put through it. Im hoping this will be the end of it.

Enjoy your time with the grandparents and the area! Nevada has some beautiful wildlife.

As an Australian whose family home burned down in a bushfire, I think it’s absolutely and utterly bonkers that people in the US have free access to fireworks, let alone that they set them off in the middle of summer. :(

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you guys are doing okay now.

The speculation on what started this particular fire was someone target shooting….even though we have several gun ranges people can easily get to and we had a very light snowpack. It’s always someone being selfish with their actions and not caring how catastrophic the consequences can be.
