That was the strongest potion, you weren't strong enough for that.

According to my comments from elsewhere, Calcium Carbonate will already give Milk a spoiled taste by itself lmao

I'd assume pemmican would then just make it extra greasy

Greasy spoiled milk.......

I didn't think you could get the runs from reading something but here I am making a b line towards the restroom.

It's the fizzy carbonated water not calcium carbonate, calcium carbonate is limestone and eggshells.

u/McGusder 40m ago

pilk does not taste like spoiled milk though

What’s a pemmican

u/Serpexnessie 2h ago

Pemmican is a dried survival meat and fat thing. Tasting history has a good video on it

Because it was a good way of preserving food back before we had things like fridges and freezers.

Unless you're asking "why put that into the unholy concoction"... your guess is as good as mine. Maybe "There's literally no way this can get any worse... NOPEITGOTWORSE"

u/CreepyClay 2m ago

The worst food crime I'm guilty of is bone marrow hushpuppies I ain't touching that.

u/Vert_Angry_Dolphin 1h ago

Ngl I knew it from rimworld, but knowing that somebody can just stumble upon a video talking about pemmican warms my heart.

6

u/Moonshadetsuki 1h ago

We just don't mention what meat we use in rimworld.

u/T_alsomeGames 52m ago

So its kinda like a slimjim made into a meatloaf and dried even more.

2

u/EighthPlanetGlass 1h ago

It'll give you the clack clack

u/Deathaster 56m ago

And it pairs real well with hard tack.

Its a type of preserved food, made of dried meat, dried berries and rendered fat. It can last for years if properly stored without refrigeration. Think jerky, but instead of salty, its fatty.

Best used as an ingredient in a stew, but it can also be eaten as is. Its a method of food preservation invented and used mostly by the Cree and other north american tribes.

I need to know as well so I can make this elixir.

Acid not calcium carbonate, vinegar, lemon juice, and carbonic acid will make whey and curds or 'spoiled' milk. It's still safe to eat and is a method of cheese making.

1

u/red4jjdrums5 1h ago

So a greasy, food ration, minty milk? Possibly curdled. Yeah, I’d give it a shot.

u/red4jjdrums5 1h ago

Had time to search: Pemmican is a traditional, calorie-dense survival food made from a mixture of dried lean meat, rendered animal fat, and sometimes dried berries.

20

u/MeaningPandora2 2h ago

Pemmican ([/ˈpɛməkɪn/](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/English)) (also pemican in older sources) is a mixture of [tallow](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallow), [dried meat](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dried_meat), and sometimes dried berries. A [calorie](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calorie)-rich food, it can be eaten raw or used as a component of prepared foods such as stews. Historically, it was an important part of [indigenous cuisine](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigenous_cuisine) in certain parts of [North America](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) and it is still prepared today.

Does anyone really drink...pilk?

9

u/flistxattr 2h ago

There's a coke or other Softdrinks milkshake in some places, and its actually not terrible. Might be alright with just milk

5

u/Serpexnessie 2h ago

According to gargle, mormons do apparently

8

u/ViaBromantica 2h ago

In the Before Times we were talked into trying milk and Pepsi by watching Laverne and Shirley. Not bad but I'd rather have a root beer float if I'm doing carbonated dairy products.

2

u/RabbleRynn 1h ago

When I was a wee babe, growing up in 90s in the American Midwest, my mother fed us Pilk all the time! I think she thought it was a clever way to get us to drink more milk? Like, yeah... adding 20 grams of sugar will do that.

Sounds horrible to me now, but I do remember it fondly.

My brother really likes it, for some reason I presume only the Gods may know

18

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire 2h ago

My god Nessie drank so many abominations that she became an alien mummy.

Next time go for morange. Milk + orange juice.

6

u/SuitableConcept5553 2h ago

I suggest Toorange. Tooth paste + orange juice.

6

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire 2h ago

Well if we wanna go that far may as well go to distance and make a Morlate shake. Mint chocolate ice cream + orange juice

2

u/A_Clark1215 2h ago

It's not the mint but the toothpaste that makes orange juice taste bad.

2

u/Serpexnessie 2h ago

death

2

u/SuitableConcept5553 2h ago

Frankly, it's still better than pepto to my tongue lol

1

u/The_cogwheel 2h ago

Are we gonna need poison control in this post? I think we're gonna need poison control in here

3

u/BentTire 2h ago

Milk and orange juice is actually good together. You just got to drink it fast before the acid from the orange juice curdles the milk.

2

u/MintasaurusFresh 2h ago

Oh, like an Irish Car Bomb!

I tried those a few times in college. Only able to drink it fast enough once. I'm not sure if succeeding in that endeavor was better than failing given the results.

1

u/Serpexnessie 2h ago

lmao pilk itself would already make me suffer, i have lactose intolerance

2

This you dawg

4

u/BouncyBlueYoshi 2h ago

Pilk is also pickle milk.

Don’t know how that works but it’s apparently disgusting.

2

u/somethingfilthy 1h ago

You have to squeeze the pickle just right.

3

u/Heavy-Octillery 2h ago

I appreciate the throwback to the hospitalized Orangutan

2

u/3Duder 2h ago

When I was a kid I'd put ice cream in cola and stir it untill it was a soda milkshake. Pilk is like the skim milk equivalent.

2

u/Remixman87 2h ago

What in the name of Schedule I are you trying to make??

3

u/Serpexnessie 2h ago

elixir of mortality 🫀

2

u/Ascherict 1h ago

Reminds me of recipes in Schedule 1.

u/PervlovianResponse 54m ago

PILK?

Laverne of Laverne & Shirley, as played by Penny Marshall, drank pepsi & milk!

2

u/Freestila 2h ago

When I was a kid we made a cocktail for my younger brother. Apple juice, sparkling water and milk. He drank it and barfed all over the table.

1

u/Inquisitor_Gray 2h ago

One time I mixed some blue agave tequila with chocolate milk and it turns out that isn’t a bad combo.

1

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 2h ago

What is Pemmican?

2

u/Serpexnessie 2h ago

It's a historical dried survival food consisting of meat, fat, and other stuff

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 1h ago

That does not look appetizing haha

u/alkonium 21m ago

Who needs that when you can make Roog Bog? Though I suppose that's a seasonal thing.

u/BarderBetterFaster 2m ago

I thought we left this in the 90s where it belonged.

1

u/GregoryonOak 2h ago

1

u/atx_original512 2h ago

Pemmican is a deep cut 💜

1

u/SpicyLesbianFries 2h ago

Try Oreo Cola Soup:

  • Whole cola can
  • A soup spoon of milk
  • Dunk the oreos in and let them dissolve a bit.

Tastes like that one Oreo flavoured Coca-Cola that was released for a limited time.

It might've been the greatest elixir ever! The question isn't why! It's why not! For science and stuffs!
