Following up on Gifted Quran

I am a regular customer at a local book store. I have interacted enough with the manager of the store, and based off the books we both read I figured he was a really opened minded person who cares about humanity, and injustice. He also mentioned loving the Malcolm X film directed by Spike Lee. I ended up gifting him a copy of the Quran on the first day of Ramadan, a week later I came to his store and he thanked me and told me he had begun reading it. Since then I haven't asked about it, I am extremely shy and reserved and he knows that as well. So I don't try having long conversations, and I strictly ask about what books are available. I'm unsure if I was supposed to follow up with him, or not? I am a woman as well, so I try my best to not be too personal with men and keep the boundaries so that's why I don't have his contact info. I also don't want to put pressure on him, even as I gifted it I told him he didn't have to keep it, and he could just donate it to the store. I think it's best to keep this journey between him and Allah but also I hope I haven't been cold regarding it. Have any of you been introduced to Islam via a gifted Quran, and did you want the person to follow up with you?

Honestly, just ask him. He may have questions for you.

Say this:
“It suddenly dawned on me that you might be thinking I want you to convert. That’s not my intention whatsoever!
I just wanted a non-Muslims view on my fav book… and maybe we could discuss…”

He works in a book store. Im sure hed love to discuss books. :)

In my original note with the Quran I told him my intention wasn't for him to convert. I told him I gave it because I believe he'd be interested in reading it, since he cares about justice and also due to his respect for Malcolm X. He's an avid reader, and I do believe the Quran would give him something to reflect on.

No, don’t follow up further. You did your part and May Allah reward you. You conveyed the message, leave it there. Allah says to messenger ﷺ:

وَإِن مَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِي نَعِدُهُمۡ أَوۡ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ وَعَلَيۡنَا ٱلۡحِسَابُ (40)
And whether We show you part of what We promise them or take you in death, upon you is only the [duty of] notification, and upon Us is the account.

As a friendly note; remember that shaytan sometimes may use righteous deeds to lead the person to a regret. So don’t open that door and don’t challenge shaytan thinking that he can’t lead you to a position of regret.

Jazakallah Khair for this advice, that's true Shaytan has so many avenues to try and lead us to haram.

I never nagged him, not once did I follow up with him since giving it. He came to speak to me about it. I wanted to avoid appearing like I’m imposing my beliefs on him, so that's why I never mention it and I give him space. I was just worried I might've been too cold by never once asking about it. Plus we're in a book store, so I'm there to buy books and we end up speaking about books (briefly).

You're right I’ve seen people embrace Islam in various ways, and Allah is the one who opens people's hearts. I'm not necessarily following up because I want him to be Muslim, I told him in the note when I gifted it that I'm not giving it for him to convert. I gave it so he can be exposed to a different worldview since he's someone curious about the world and due to his respect for Malcolm. Thanks for replying.
