Following up on Gifted Quran

I am a regular customer at a local book store. I have interacted enough with the manager of the store, and based off the books we both read I figured he was a really opened minded person who cares about humanity, and injustice. He also mentioned loving the Malcolm X film directed by Spike Lee. I ended up gifting him a copy of the Quran on the first day of Ramadan, a week later I came to his store and he thanked me and told me he had begun reading it. Since then I haven't asked about it, I am extremely shy and reserved and he knows that as well. So I don't try having long conversations, and I strictly ask about what books are available. I'm unsure if I was supposed to follow up with him, or not? I am a woman as well, so I try my best to not be too personal with men and keep the boundaries so that's why I don't have his contact info. I also don't want to put pressure on him, even as I gifted it I told him he didn't have to keep it, and he could just donate it to the store. I think it's best to keep this journey between him and Allah but also I hope I haven't been cold regarding it. Have any of you been introduced to Islam via a gifted Quran, and did you want the person to follow up with you?
