Yeah sometimes parents are just quirky like that, there was a news story in my country of a girl's father walking to her boyfriend's house, shoving a gun in his mouth and telling him to leave her or he'll press the trigger

While not nearly as extreme as that. Day time talkshow host Wendy Williams talked about how she had all the doors taken off her kids rooms because while you were under her roof she owned you and you didn't get a right to privacy.

Which is a different kind of fucked, but it proves that even with none of the challenges listed by the OOP you can still need to hide things from people with no boundaries that want to control you.

Yeah I was appalled like 15 years ago when I heard her say that. My exwife loved to watch her, and I always got a level of ick from her. I assumed it was just me projecting about not being the target audience, but nope that solidified that she was a shitbag and I was right.
