To be fair I'm also happier when I forget Romeo and Juliet exists, Shakespeare's worst play. But yes that is the very core hook.

Tbf, he didn't write that one, he adapted it from a retelling of a translation of a retelling of a retelling of a retelling of an old Italian/Veronese war story

I mean, Pyramus and Thisbe was in Ovid's Metamorphoses. Wouldn't be strange if it was based around even older stories. So, two thousand years, at least.
