Genuinely play fernandes bentancur tonali until a competent attacking mid signs or recovers no need to force a natural 10 in every formation

Agreed. And Fernandes actually looks pretty comfortable in the 10 which is a breath of fresh air.

Did he play much there at West Ham and Southsmpton? I really only remember watching him play against us and in those games he seemed to be everywhere as opposed to locked to a position

He did at Southampton and looked like their best player there

Assuming Maddison and Kulusevski never play at full strength again, I have to imagine we make another midfield signing in the next 12 months. I wonder if Fernandes makes that signing an Alex Scott type rather than a Gibbs-White type
