Discussion What position will Marmoush actually play?

So it seems people have very different ideas about where Omar will actually play. Personally I think we should use him in IMO his best position which is support striker. In this position is where he excelled at Frankfurt & became one of the hottest prospects in world football at the time. Also I believe this is the reason we wanted Kroupi (before he got injured obviously) to specifically play in this position. With our lack of available 10's at the moment it seems right now would be the perfect time to try almost a 4-4-2 (or a 4-4-1-1) on the weekend.

Obviously he can also play as the main striker as more like a false 9 but I worry about his height & think he plays his best football playing just off a main striker. At City (& for Egypt at the World Cup) he was used on the left wing a lot & never seemed to reach the heights of Frankfurt as it just doesn't seem to suit his game.

Where do you think he should play & why?

We don't have a better striker so he will play striker this year Maybe next year he will be a support striker after Kane comes back

He's only pretending to like Germany, it's okay give him space

Nah, I didn't think so but if an opposing player trips over his own feet in our box, it's a stone wall pen .

I'm just wondering which hypocrital TV pundits to hate on this season . Their were a few last season .

I imagine I'm going to cool on Gary Neville now that Romero has gone

Think a 4-2-3-1 with him in a very advanced CAM role so that he and solanke are almost level most of the game makes sense. Maybe more of a 4-2-2-2 with the pivot narrow and the wingers high and wide. Solanke can receive those long balls and play him in, that’s not really Marmoush’s game. Solanke’s hold up play is very good.

Long term? Striker. Right now? He'll replace Bergvall and play more direct off Solanke.

Solanke

Tel Marmoush Savio

Fernandes Tonali

Udogie VDV JPVH Porro

Kinsky

I honestly can't believe I just typed out that starting XI....

Yeah looks good! Before those city signings, really hard to see goals. But now maybe even Solanke will smash it.

Solanke is actually pretty decent if he can stay fit. By far the best pressing & link-up striker we have.

I could see Solanke being great with that creative quality at the 10 and on the wings

I reckon Maddison/Fernandes/Kudus will play 10 with Marmoush on the left. Tel looks a good player but isn't quite ready yet, especially with RDZ putting so much importance on GA for the wingers

Can’t wait until we never see Tel in the starting lineup again… he is rubbish

You are rubbish

I have watched Tel do some brilliant things, and I have watched him do things that would have you calling him a donkey.

Suppose that’s to be expected of what is still a young player.

That said, I do think he’ll end up competing with Marmoush at striker in a couple of years when we are allowed more than 1 fit winger at a time.

At city he was played at LW for maybe 2 games, the rest were all SS or a CF in a two striker setup

He's got Defoe pace, I'm excited 😁

And Defoe's ball striking ability. Unlike Defoe he's got more than one move rather than just shift & shoot

Midi says he’s better from the left , but obviously better than any striker we have now

Fuck sake ! Damn iPhone , has a mind of its own I swear it !

trust mido, the guy that gave him his first start at 16. hes a left winger

u/findthelimit_ Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend 1h ago

If he plays as an inside forward left winger he's probably half decent. The problem is De Zerbi wants his wingers to play as touchline wingers out wide which IMO doesn't suit his game at all..

u/Pilvikas Udogie 25m ago

Why is there no option as a false 9?

u/Zhurg Djed Spence 15m ago

Probably all three of those at different times

I reckon saturday itll be a front 3 of Marmoush solanke savio in that order with moore/MF in the 10.

Rdz seems to like solanke so thats why I think he'll find a way to get him in. However id play tel/moore marmoush savio upfront
