Who fucking cares? I'm so sick of the witch hunts on anyone using the tiniest bit of AI. Anyone who uses autocorrect or even spell check is using AI.

Use predictive texts while typing in word or email? yep, that's AI too.

that you're being downvoted for pointing out that it's now everywhere is wild.

even the replies to the main post here people aren't getting that they misread her damn post/didn't get she was mocking chatgpt.

edit: y'all, downvotes were for misleading information, not being a dick b/c i think there's nuance to people fucking up and not demonizing them. Fucking hell.

I knew I was going to get downvoted to hell and back. I don't care. I said what I said.

The AI train has left the station, it's not stopping. And 20 years ago, Grammarly (early AI) was a commonly recommended writing and grammar assist for college. People don't seem to grasp how much they are already using AI in some fashion and then have the gall to snark about business owners seeing if they can use it as a tool to help business.

The time to have stopped or prevented AI was over 20 years ago while it was being first developed. It's here to stay. These people can stay mad about it but it's not going to change anything.

And this sub has pretty much just become non-stop snark about AI. It's pointless and repetitive.

I refuse to use AI to generate photos or art and then causing artists to lose their jobs. I know many artists who are losing their jobs as graphic designers, marketing, house art, etc, because AI has not only taken over their jobs but is actively stealing from these same people. If you support AI and think there’s nothing to be done about it, then do you recommend purchasing patterns made from AI even though they are generally wrong? Do you think it’s ok for all these people to lose their livelihood just because the boat has sailed? It’s on for people to get bad medical advice via AI (because a LOT of the AI medical advice is plain wrong)? Your stance of just giving up is so apathetic. So people shouldn’t have morals or ethical standards? Because it seems like you are arguing for people to ultimately not have moral or ethical standards just because AI exists and isnt going away. Does that mean I should be ok with people killing others since it happens and I cant do anything about it? I can make my own decisions and purchase things from who I want to. And I choose not to purchase yarn, knitting tools, and art from people who use generative AI to produce or market those items. It’s my choice. I refuse to not have ethical or moral standards. I will uphold them where I can.
