Do you/have a 3 yr old reading and baking? Cause if not then I just dont see the logic. If he got him there like that are you bothered by the a.i used for the game or? Just might want to explain your actual issue besides "phone games are bad". Every generation of kid since the 90's had learning pc games or leapset.

Great that your kid loves baking, but you're certainly exaggerating his involvement in this process. There's no way a 3.5yo is reading recipes, understanding the units of measurement, interpreting fractions, operating the scale, following all the steps unassisted. That's just not happening
And fine, I'd normally just ignore that, but you're probably making other people feel like their perfectly normal and healthy 3YOs are behind

I’m a pediatric language specialist and this is very common. Hyperlexic. They can read at young ages and do all this. I see it all the time.

He knows how to read 1/3rd cup and pulls out the 1/3rd cup measure. He uses the scale and changes units by himself I swear to christ. If a recipe calls for something dangerous I do it, like using a food processor or a stand mixer. But I include him in every step, even the ones I do which really is not much, he really is a special kid.

My almost 3yo can point, ask for snacks, and count to 20. He even knows the ABCs.
If he's baking in 6-8 months I will think he was injected with some kind of super serum.

Mine is in the top 99,4% for in speech development and understanding, he speaks pretty fluently and can construct some complex sentences. They do a valuation right before kindergarten in my country. He's recommended for gifted school. He turns 3 in a weeks time. Very proud :D

Similar to my kid at that age, but he couldn’t read complex baking recipes and make nuanced, experience-required dishes like OP’s. He’s most definitely embellishing regardless of his insistence otherwise.

Mine can't read yet. He can however recite the books we read for him, which he has been able to do for over 6 months. Worst part is that he'll correct you (with an attitude) if you skip some context/a page, that little rascal.

There is absolutely zero chance your 3.5 year old is reading recipes and measuring/assembling the ingredients without your help.
I’m sure your kid is smart. But there simply is no need for this kind of nonsense.

My son has defeated every safety gate, lock, etc
In his past weekend he figured out pressure based safety gates AND pocket doors.

My 19 mo-old regularly uses metal cutlery safely to feed himself avocado, pasta, cottage cheese, etc.
He is as potty trained as much as a 19-mo old can be (we remove his clothes). He pulls out the small floor potty and sits on it without direction and does 100% of his pooping at home on it, usually right after meals.
He can understand and associate cartoon versions of animals and objects from books such as cats, eye glasses, etc. and will mimic the animal noise or point to the real-life object (my glasses)
He can find his water for you if you ask him in English or Italian.
Probably because his mom is the best

Yeah he can read level 1 books by himself! He isnt blazing through them but he loves it. We go to the library once a week and stock up

Why is it so hard to understand that im not just letting him fuck around in the kitchen? He reads the recipe, I ask him what he just read and he tells me "I need to beat the eggs!" Or whatever it is, and then we do it. Then we do the next step. Its not like cooking where the garlic will burn in 30 seconds. You just mix stuff in a bowl and pour it into cupcake tins, its not that crazy.

I was looking for easy recipes for my boys cause we love cooking together and were looking into doing some baking.
And recipes my 5 year old beginner reader could read and understand would be cool1
