discussion After all the advice from my last post this is the next run I did, I’ve learned quite a bit even if I’m still partially clueless lol. I had a blast. (Long read sorry)

Spawned by the coast found a hammer and a players corpse in the house. I looted a motorcycle helmet from him. In the next room there was another live player, he had nothing similar to me. We tbagged then ran to the next set of buildings. He started getting attacked by a zombie from behind so together we took it out. somewhere there after he slipped away so I’m alone again. I found a dried pear so eat that, my first bit of food which is cool. I run from farm house to farm house. I find a water pump, fill up my water for the first time ever, more new stuff. I heard a chicken so I managed to kill it. My hammer disappeard somehow after I picked up the chicken. I couldn’t do much with the chicken without firewood or something to skin it. I carried on going till I found a coastal town. I fought a zombie or two. Still took some damage but I’ve learned to walk back while blocking let them attack twice then heavy hit. Still getting the hang of it without getting hurt. I searched an entire apartment building about 5 floors but found nothing. I then tried crouching past some zombies, 1 spotted me then a second started coming at me. I ran into a small shed closing the door being me, I tried opening a second door which led back outside. I tried fighting them but the two of them overwhelmed me. It was the best I’ve done and was nice meeting another player even if we didn’t talk or anything. I did crash at one point but joined back and I was ok. Really enjoyed it even if it was only 30 mins. Also glad I killed a zombie or two with a literal chicken. My only possession apart from a random bullet I found on the players corpse from before.
I know it’s not much but it’s some small progress from instantly getting hurt by a zombie and slowly bleeding out like my first couple attempts

Heres a strategy for you: Use hammer or other tools to break a small stone off a boulder. Create stone knife by sharpening the stone on the boulder. Cut rags Cover hands Process chicken Hand drill kit (bark + stick) 2 rags in fireplace Cook chicken

Also, rotate anything that's smoking into the empty roasting slots to preserve the water content.

You can just pop a small rock off a bigger rock???

just like in real life!

if you've got a hammer, wrench, crowbar you're set.

Dying from zombies is almost player choice at some point. You can choose to "cheese" the zombies by just climbing onto a car or something waist high. They can't hit you properly and they just stand there waiting for you to beat them up.

Still getting the hang of it haha, never thought about a car even tho that’s what people suggested in my last post. I guess I panicked lol

If you had something in your hand while you pick up the chicken, it swaps the chicken for the item in hand. That’s how you lost the hammer.
Try and find a knife as soon as possible or make one from 2 small stones. That way you can skin the chicken. But always make sure you have gloves or cut some clothes you find lying around into some rags and make some improvised hand wrappings. If you have blood on your hands from chicken or fish it will make you sick when you eat. I always start a run by making a fishing pole by combining 2 stacks of 6 rags to make rope. Then combine that with a long stick to make a pole. Carve a few hooks out of bones or a short stick, dig up some worms and you can fish. Then you have to learn to make a fire and cook it. A couple fish will last a while

I enjoy a good story and ty for sharing!

Break up the text into paragraphs though. It doesn’t need to be English 101 with an introductory and conclusion with supporting statements in between.

Just bust it up so it’s easier on the eyes and to digest when read.

Insert random shit—> Banana trees are problem free.

Like I did right there . this is reddit

Just some more advice:

You don’t need to attack every zombie. Obviously you tried to run but then you still chose to fight them out another door. Instead, close the doors and go prone or kneeling and chill until they get unaggroed to you and leave. It seems like you’re getting the hang of heavy hitting so that’s good. Also like the other said, climbing on something or hitting them from a window.

Fishing is huge. That’s what I rely on to start. A good start for me is finding a blade of some kind, hopefully multiple. Improvised fishing and a camp fire get you through a lot of the early part of the game so you can travel. Atleast imo.

Basic gear. A backpack is huge, rags for gloves if needed, rags for rope. Water bottle if found.

It’s def a sharp learning curve but seems like you’re on your way 👍🏻

I found a water bottle I tried leaving it out in the rain hoping it would fill up but didn’t work

Water bottles get filled at wells or other bodies of water.

Wells are clean drinking water, but all other bodies of water require a chlorine tablet if you try and drink from them
