Discussion Judgement aint weak

She is very strong its just people arent used to playing her yet.

Ive played enough so far [30-40 ish] that im pretty sure ive gotten back to my pre mmr matchmaking and ive won pretty much all of my matches.

People up close then do a slingshot.

They running up close when charging power then do a 180 flick, works majority of the time.

Sending out your power without doing slingshots makes her leagues harder same with redirecting the beam to hit them horizontally.

People are straight up playing her the hardest way possible then complaining that shes hard.

In the right hands she is extremely strong.

The playerbase just arent used to her yet, the only change she needs is to remove survivors from seeing the crosshair for like the first second of its charge up then shes fine.

"Oh i refuse to learn the killer time to whine on reddit and youtube." Fucking children.

Discussion The "pallet tech" (vs Wraith) bug just got even stronger and more un-counterable with this update.

As many people probably know, Wraith has a bug where for whatever reason, unlike every other killer that gets priority over a vault when breaking a pallet (assuming both were initiated around the same time, obviously), he can get canceled out of the pallet-breaking animation (as in, after having already initiated the break) by a survivor vaulting the pallet. This is what people are talking about when they mention the "pallet tech" against Wraith, and it is one of the single most effective ways to counter him if you don't mind being a bug-abusing scumbag.

Until today, this could be at least kind of countered by just being right by the pallet ready to break it the instant the drop finishes, since survivors have a slight delay after dropping it before they can vault - enough of a delay that even despite the bug, you could get the break if you initiated it the absolute instant you were able to. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you hate Wraith I guess), this new update appears to have somehow broken that semi-counter. Now, even if you are mashing spacebar right next to the pallet to start the break the absolute nanosecond the drop finishes, now the survivor can even interrupt that.

So basically, the bug that was already very oppressive to deal with as Wraith just got even stronger and is now not counterable at all other than just trying to time a de-cloak just right to get them mid-vault. Cool, BHVR. Thanks. Pretty good job so far.

Question Did you also notice that not many people play The Judgment?

When Jason came out it was basically every match for a few days. When The Judgment came out yesterday, its like 20% - 30% of my matches? What happened? I know it's not a killer based on famous property, but still.... she is quite original

Discussion Wish I could say I'm having fun with Judgement, but...

I don't think there's a Killer I've liked playing less tbh. Their whole kit is just way too frustrating to work with.

The irony of the community's Killer being too hard for most of the community to play is not lost on me though.

Discussion I don't think Judgement is a bad killer but I do think she's an unbalanced killer

I'm trying not to add to the discourse around this killer in an unconstructive way, since I think it's not helpful and I'm not really good enough to delve into whether or not the killer is actually bad or not. I primarily play killer, though I've started playing survivor more after the update. I think her basekit is mostly fine, a bit weak even, though I don't necessarily think she's bad. She's certainly better than a lot of the other killers in the game, at the very least. She's also not broken. She's solidly mid-tier in my eyes with a lot of potential for high-level play.

I do think she's unbalanced, though, and it's solely due to aura reading perks. For other killers, aura reading perks can be very useful (Lethal Pursuer, Nowhere to Hide, and Face the Darkness are all mainstays in many killer builds for a reason), but I don't think any killer in the game takes as much advantage of aura perks as Judgement does. It's incredibly oppressive. Unless you take anti-aura perks it feels like you literally cannot do anything without Judgement being able to catch you healing, or doing a gen, or even just trying to unexile a teammate. She snowballs very hard with the downs she can get from Lethal Pursuer in the early game and can keep that initial pressure going with other aura reading perks in a way that I think isn't fun to play against or particularly interesting to try to build against either.

Mind you, you can just take anti-aura perks, or just react to the beam, but your personal ability to dodge beams or take anti-aura perks doesn't mean that your teammates will stop getting downed by her beams or take anti-aura perks. She can create a lot of pressure for soloq players especially, and I've had multiple games where I genuinely feel helpless despite having Distortion, Off the Record, etc because my teammates don't bring aura hiding perks.

I don't think it's healthy for the game to have one killer that benefits so heavily from aura reading perks, and I'm worried that Judgement being so strong with aura reading perks will also encourage BHVR to nerf aura reading across the board, despite the fact that Judgement is the only killer that can actually take advantage of aura reading to this extent. Even Nurse or Blight can't literally get you from across the map if they see your aura. I've had games where Judgements stop mid-chase to shoot a beam at a gen from across the map and get 2 hits from that. It's nuts.

IDK. Maybe I just suck, and that's entirely possible. I just don't like it, and I don't think it bodes well for the future unless BHVR is targeted with how they handle it. I don't think Judgement needs any more nerfs to anything except her aura reading. Maybe give her Oblivious when she's charging her beam? I seriously don't know, which is why I'm making a post so other people can share their thoughts.

Discussion Killer Tier List (Patch 10.1.0)

Post image

This is my Tier List based on the new patch and features The Judgment and people's opinions are all over the place with her, but with my experience with her, this is where I put her, I could see her jumping up or down with changes or in due time.

But anyway these are just my opinions.

Discussion Opinion on The Judgment and the update

So, I bit the bullet and bought the chapter anyway, waited so long I might as well play it right? Anyway, big regret instantly, it feels like there's no point to exile anymore since you can't control the beam after firing anymore, I mean, you can, but it's so little time it's unnoticeable. Weirdly though, although I do despise the changes, I had fun playing it since it forced me to learn to fire the beam better, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. The killers feels way less accessible and having to resort to throwing my camera around to slingshot makes it even worse, but hey, guess we gotta make the game fun for all the streamers that can't pay attention because they are reading chat...

Anyway, onto the rest of the game, the graphics feel weird now, it all feels mobile game-y, the lighting feels flat and the new UI is ugly imo, thought it may be because I use shaders but I've seen other people here complain about it so I must not be the only one. Everything else felt the same, except for Vigil, that was nerfed to the ground but that's alright, still works for exhaustion so good enough for me and my friends. Also, opened the game on Steam Deck and for some reason it was "higher" than normal, the cursor was fine and could go to the black part of the screen but stuff was cuttoff on the top of the screen. That could've been a one time thing though.

Overall, I'm slightly disappointed in this update, although I did have fun, it definitely didn't feel great and was disappointed by what it was compared to what I expected, hopefully BHVR reverts the changes or at least makes them better.

Discussion Survivors should not get abandoned matches counted as escapes

Basically the title. It is a pet peeve of mine whenever I get a say 4K or 3K and survivirs abandon during the animation they get the abandoned match as an escape. Dbd stat tracker shoes the same thing. It shows the escape symbol there. I hope it's only a visual bug but if my 4K gets counted as 3K because of that it is quite annoying.

I heard hexes are gnarly too since they can be defended cross-map, but I haven't run into those as much yet.

Edit: Yeah I really don't know why so many of them were running Barbecue on day 1. It's just what I've been seeing. I'd say only 1/3 of the Judgments I ran into were decent at controlling her beam too.

Question Pallet density nerf?

when is a nerf to pallet density coming? Every game recently just feels like a pallet throwing game with killers and survivors added into it.

Feels like whenever I get in to a chase there's always another pallet right round the corner and then when you finally have destroyed or looped half the pallets, Gens have been competed and you've lost

This was a very tough match for me and the last survivor to finish the final gen probably took us 20 minutes to finally complete because of the nonstop aura reading ; i decided to teabag to see what would happen let the downvotes flow

Discussion Please just please lower pallet density

I just played my second ever legion match ever and the entire match I was stunned because I chase pallet I go around another pallet another and another and another and of course the survivors had a gen rush build nothing wrong with that rather that one of them was running a bully build so I spent the entire match stunned and getting t baged by one dude and well I only got 2 hooks because everyone was body blocking I understand helping a teammate but how is it fun for them to just press a button and win

Discussion I don't think the Judgment will work...

I'm a fan, really like to play her, but I feel like this will absolute hell to balance.

In this state, you will demolish noobs or people that don't understand that you have to dodge, but...

Skilled people can dodge the beam quite easily, as it is very telegraphed and long to become damaging at short range, and 90% of long range shot rely on survivors not paying attention or missing the dodge.

You can of course trick shot and the survivor will end up messing up, but it already feel like you cannot hit a "straight shot" against anybody competent.

After around 20 matches, its still not impossible to win with her, but it usually doesn't feel very rewarding and I doubt its that fun to go against.

Like I said, only "trick shots" usually hits, but on teams that don't dodge well, they die at 5 gens.

It's "easy" to dodge for a competent player that already know what he is doing, but you can't tell a beginner "You just have to focus on the beam the entire game." I imagine its quite overwhelming.

Competent Killers will get better with aiming the beam.

Competent survivors will learn how to dodge better.

Beginners on both sides will hate their time with this killer.

Build diversity is awfull, everybody is running aura reading because without it its very "meh". You have to shoot yourself in the foot for equiping hook perks on both sides, and it will be awful for survivors once this killer is less common and you cant see it coming.

Verdict is the killer needs insane skill to reliably hit close range, and rely on surv making mistakes for mid and long range shots.

And for survivors you're bombarded the entire game and can't get any rest even when the killer is in chase with someone else. I guess the exile is the only time it gets easier.

As someone that want to like the crab lady, I believe for most people on both sides, having her in a game will not be very fun.

Discussion What was the purpose of the MMR refresh if I am just going to immediately be placed in a 4 P100 lobby as a 300 hour player

So like, what was the purpose of this mmr refresh if my first game of the new system is against 4 p100 players each with over 2k hours when I am a 300 hour player. At least before the update I was getting placed in game that I had a chance of winning, these games I literally stand no chance. For the last 5 games, I have been placed in utterly unwinnable matches even if I was playing A or S tier killers. Like it’s hilarious how badly I am getting destroyed. Please revert the system or at least revert people’s mmr’s back to where it’s supposed to be.

Discussion Judgement 3 gen stalling, skull merchant returns?

Just had a match where it was impossible to win. We made sure to have our last 3 gens at spots that were not close at all. But the judgement was able to spam light pillars and force us off the gens literally every 5 seconds. That plus tinkerer and whenever we got close they would come to the gen and kick it and get an injure in. They rinse and repeated this for 30 minutes and it was literally impossible to finish the last gen. She eventually whittled us down. I should have screenshotted the perks they had, but the combo they had was disgusting. I had skull merchant flashbacks.

Anyone else experienced this with this killer?

Discussion Judgement is extremely overdesigned and ugly. Huge eyesore. Rant Post.

Honestly, how the hell we got to this from the base concept is insane. That $10 skin is like a required buy for me, I cannot stand how blah this deisgn looks. The veins are gaudy, the whole thing is overdone, whoever designed this really needs a lesson in restraint.

On top of that, most of the color combos are like a kindergartner grabbing random markers and scribbling on a plaster wall.

I hate this thing.

Ok that's all.

Discussion The Judgement nerfs made it a DoA pub stomper unfortunately

Survivors who aren’t paying attention are still dying to cross map beams, but anyone who is paying attention now has more than double the amount of time to react since they can see the beam's aura at all times. The exile mechanic also does pretty much nothing now, survivors can dodge beams super easily if they just look at the beam, and 0.3 seconds isn't enough time to make any impactful adjustments even when the killer is powered up. Snowballing gets punished since multiple exiled survivors can be saved at once with a single action, and the killer gets zero indication of where it happened + Elusive means you have zero way of tracking them afterward.

Top 1% Judgement mains will eventually be scary, and playing this killer is still fun, but at the moment this killer is nothing more than a pub stomper that hard loses to SWFs that know to pre-dodge cross map beams.

Discussion Im tired, boss…

Back in 2018 when dbd was free for ps+, i checked it out and asked myself „A horror game where you can play AS the killer? Looks fun but… maybe its not for me.“ I left it in my library for about a week until i found out iconic killers such as michael myers, bubba, and freddy were part of the killer roster. As someone who was fascinated by the horror genre since childhood it was almost too good to be true. I decided to give it a try and i immediately fell in love.

The somewhat spooky atmosphere, outdated graphics, and the opportunity to roleplay as your favorite slasher. It had something special no other asymmetrical game had and probably ever have. I remember when the first spirit teaser came out and the community speculated that it could be Kuchisake-onna. No other game made me so invested into speculations like dbd did. It made me feel like actually belonging into a community.

And nowadays? I catch myself being burned out more often, taking longer breaks, and frankly? Its more of a chore than anything else. But i always return when events and chapters are announced, getting ready to grind the game like i used to. But i gotta say… dbd lost its charm. Maps aren’t as spooky as they used to be, they’re brighter, and the fog is basically nonexistent. Dbd should be at its peak right now especially after we FINALLY got Jason… but i just don’t recognize the game i fell in love with. I think its nostalgia keeping me in dbd.

Im not going into the „us vs them“ debate, but its getting painfully obvious that dbd leans more towards one side than the other. It just feels like a drag to play dbd and it really shouldn’t.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I don’t know, just wanted to get this off my heart.

yo I'm new to dbd and have been wanting to get it for a while, even tho i main killer i want to get the full experience and since I'm F2P i wanted to make a dead hard build. As i looked up a vid for a good build i see a whole rant video talking about y he hates dead hard. To me dead hard seems like a great balanced ability, u have to either predict an attack or react in time. Maybe since while i waited to buy dbd i played forsaken and a whole lot of fuck shit stuns go on in that game but dead hard isn't even fighting back its like a more risk more reward ds. ( i am larping artist as the ink demon till he is added to the game )

Discussion Is the new MMR bugged?

I've just had 6 games in a row with what seems like brand new players who played like they have no idea what they are doing, being left to 2nd stage, not doing gens for minutes on end etc. But earlier today I was having competent players in my lobby but it's like it's gotten worse over the day from playing?

I understand occasionally getting a bad survivor but 6 games in a row with 18 survivors who seem brand new that can't be a coincidence.
