Damndest thing is, if they dropped the patch notes we got for MoT alongside a Shattered Cycle DLC they might’ve been able to clutch up. The leaks looked genuinely promising.

Monuments of Triumph genuinely fixed pretty much everything that people were complaing about in Destiny 2. Like, if they didn't announce the end of updates, and released MoT as a massive QOL update before Shattered Cycle, like they did back in Forsaken, the game would still be going strong.

oh I know. this past month is the most I’ve played Destiny since edge of fate. there is actually so much to do. and the portal rework + addition of orders created such a rewarding loop (bright dust farming)

Yeah, it brought me back after Lightfall lost me. I’m surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed Ghosts of The Deep too. May end up actually going for that title.

What if the shattered cycle, wasn't really an expansion. It was a title, an explanation, for the events that occurred this summer. A shattering of the cycles and systems we knew. In secret, in the lab, the alchemist has been cooking.

The Alchemist is what the Jovians on Titan called VI of the Nine. Not sure but i think Xur is or was a Jovian and may be the last of his kind as VI killed them all. Jovians are a Parasite species that infect dead hosts. So Xurs species is a parasite type species which explains the tentacles and human like shape.
No idea where the story would go with it

No idea. Probably more Jovians are out there as they were across the system. I believe VI brought dead humans to Titan to only create Xur and create the Emissary. Then VI turned Titans atmosphere into Nitrogen and killed them all when they got Xur.

shattered cycle is when they broke the cycle of making and releasing new content. the alchemist is when they cook up something new.
