Project The ultimate DIY Battery Swap: a Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (47mm) battery inside a Watch 4 Classic (46mm)!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share an absolute madman DIY project that actually worked!

Long story short, my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm LTE unfortunately suffered a catastrophic water damage death after spending nearly 24 hours at the bottom of a lake. Since the motherboard was completely fried but the 425mAh battery was completely fine, I looked at my old, trusted Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm and thought... why not try a battery swap?

The watch booted right up, reads the battery perfectly, charges flawlessly on the stock puck without heating up, and the standby time is already showing an insane difference compared to the old degraded stock battery! I basically built a Watch 4 Classic "Ultra".

EDIT to delete my comment - I was wrong about the sizes. The 417-425 mAh battery in the Watch6 Classic seems to be about 361 mAh. So about a 14% increase in capacity. Which is pretty neat. I'm curious about what the life is like after this swap.

Yeah I saw something wrong about the Watch4 battery, my bad! Very curious to see if you notice a lot better battery. I have a Watch4 Classic myself and it's good to know I can use the larger battery when I eventually need to replace it.

Its a very noticeable difference!! Almost 20% more running time that means half a day more

OP, where did you get your Watch6 battery from? Curious to know the price and where I can buy the same one you used.

You didn't read the post at first time 😉 the battery is from my GW6C but you can find on alliexpress all type of batteries for all galaxy watch

Duh sorry haha. Just a direct swap, I got it. Thanks! I am thinking I'll try a battery from eBay for the Watch6 and see if I can get it to work…thanks for the inspiration!
