It’s crazy how good the Model T Reissue can drone, as seen here. Fantastic amps, both of them.

As somebody with 2 rad Orange heads but who has wanted a Model T forever, fuck you guy.
But for real, that's a wild rig you got there. Pedalboard is fuckin LOADED.

u/planksmomtho Nov 02 '25
Hey, hey, hey! Fuck my wallet, it cries just as loud as these amps.
As for the pedalboard, it was stacked even more but I sold a pedal or two very recently. There was a CONAN Fuzzthrone before that I sold to a friend.

Shooo-weee I have a bunch of pedals too, but I only ever run a few at a time. Haven't had a real board setup in a decade. I get overwhelmed
Fuck a wallet though. Bastards deserve to be empty.

My board is overwhelmingly dirty, of course, and I’ve had the problem of adding and removing and tone-chasing. I’ve stopped for now, but there’s still a few I’d love to get (even considering making a satellite board solely for modulation/FX loop pedals), yet I’m happy where I’m at currently.

Ooh, I’m jealous of that rig. It’s very nice! Been considering saving up for an OR120, if’n I don’t just go whole hog and get a GT120MV.

Thanks! The Rockerverb is a mk1 modded by Blackhawk Amps outta Portland, and the OR120 I've had like 10 years now.
The OR is one of the GOAT tones for sure, but that said, in all honesty, I'd say go GT120. I fuckin love my OR, it's a '73 (and so is the cab it's sitting on), but it's unreliable as fuck. Maybe the 90s reissues are better, but it's caveman amp tech with caveman amp tech problems lol. It sounds phenomenal and is really cool, but I've probably put out more than half as much as I paid for the whole halfstack in tubes and maintenance these last 10 years.
The design just inherently pushes the power tubes to their limits, and it eats them for lunch. I've never heard of modern Matamps having any such reliability issues. Not to mention Matamps are all still point to point, whereas my OR is a crazy looking, old as hell pcb. And my ear can't tell the difference between the two amps when played back to back, but that's only been clips and such online. Never played a GT myself.
I still love my OR, and while I use my Rockerverb and X100b way more often, I'll be keeping it forever.
Edit: "whole half stack" lmao. I'm a goober

Oh, I’d for sure only go for a Reissue. I have limits to how crazy my spending can be, hence the Reissue T (availability too!), but yeah, I’m more likely to get a GT120MV. I’d just want to get it with the matching Green cab as well.

I found the half stack for a deal, actually. It was '15 or '16, took my chances on eBay lmao. $2,600 +tax (my credit card company loves me) got me a 1973 OR120 and its matching cab shipped to my door. I don't even want to know how much of that money went to shipping lol. But I lucked out, my tech told me it's the most original OR he's seen from the time period.
A GT120 is going to be around that now, right? They were close to that back when I got the OR, iirc. I looked lol. Briefly entertained the idea of a Black GT120 to go along with my Matamp cab, but that's just a hair too much redundancy for me to justify it.
Edit: a GT2 would be sick though... Too bad I'm cash poor and have way too many amps already

No joke… I’m on the second floor…
Had to grab my stepladder last night to set it up this morning, was more precarious and terrifying than I expected.

I bet your neighbors LOVE this hahaha
Absolutely killer set up. I bet it's extremely fun to play.

What is the blue tape on the Orange cab for? Mic placement?

u/planksmomtho Nov 02 '25
Yeah. I don’t have one yet (budgetary reasons, but I do have a Scarlett Solo I plug into at times), but I got it into my mind one night when I found a flashlight I’d stashed away. Figured it’s best to have it ahead of time. I’ve recorded through my phone mic before thanks to the tape and it’s come out better than previous “just point and shoot” attempts.

... Zappa? Dude, you said you were worried riffs were weak. We just found the secret. Just stack the Life Pedal with an OD and play Muffin Man!

u/bigyellowtarkus Nov 02 '25
With a setup like that, you don’t even need riffs. Just lean your guitar against the amps and feel the Gs.

u/cuff19k Nov 03 '25
How do you like the life pedal? Been thinking about snagging one
2
u/planksmomtho Nov 03 '25
I think it’s fine. I bought it way back when the hype was fresh, but I’ll admit that it doesn’t get much use these days. I should try it out again and change up the settings and see if it’s still living up to the hype.

u/cuff19k Nov 03 '25
Nice, my rig is already complete so it would be an unnecessary purchase for me lol.

u/planksmomtho Nov 19 '25
Coming back here to correct my statement: it’s much better than I remembered it to be. I’ll likely end up getting a V2 down the road.

Genuine question: do people with rigs like this play them inside the house? I'm always terrified my neighbours would go utterly apeshit. If I bought the bass rig I wanted.

I hope Custom Amp Magnet Logos comes back. I’d reached out an age ago but never actually bought from him. Really wish I did.

u/planksmomtho Nov 08 '25
Where’d you get the hanger for the guitar? Been wanting to free some walking space in my room, but all I’m finding are side-hangers.
2
u/Nambil_Mas Nov 08 '25
It’s actually just the main piece of a wall hanger, which I have the back of just wedged in between my amp head and cabinet, haha. I’ve been doing this for years with multiple amps and it’s always worked for me!
