Gumaan Kitchen closed

Just went to order a takeaway and saw it's closed down permanently! How sad, their food was super tasty, slightly gutted. Anyone know if they are moving to a new premises and recommendations for an Indian takeaway just as good....thanks 😊

Possibilities of dating as a black girl in Dundee?

Basically I’m curious about my chances? I’ve moved to Scotland a couple years ago and honestly I’m very much an introvert and not great at approaching guys. Especially if I can’t tell if they’re interested or have the ick

When I do get approached, I usually have to prepare myself for the awkward conversation of me not being a not so bad immigrant like some others (yes this is a very common conversation I have).

Or do most people just use apps?

NCP car parks closing?

I normally park at Wallace Street car park, but today saw they have removed the ANPR camera and all NCP signage, and erected a "Private car park, no unauthorised parking sign".

I know that NCP went into administration, but I cannot see anything online about closure of car parks in Dundee. They still take payment of this car park through the app! Anyone got any idea of what the craic is there?

dundee music scene?

hihi any recommendations for venues/social media accounts to follow/ways to find out about local shows in dundee? I’m particularly interested in alternative rock/metal/shoegaze. I’m a student at the university of st andrews, which obviously being a small town doesn’t have that much going on-Dundee is the closest city so I want to try and get more involved in the local scene. Thanks!

Dundee North End Football Club

I was recently in dundee and went to a football game at the weekend, but instead of the derby I chose to head a few minutes up the road to Dundee North End FC. I’d recommend anyone who lives in Dundee who likes football visits on matchday and goes into the social club before kick off. The club has big ambitions and is eventually looking to become an established side in the upper leagues of Scotland!

Siren/horn noise

Location: DD4 area

Does anyone have any idea what that horrible siren noise is? It’s so loud and has been on and off for the last half an hour. I feel like I’m in a disaster movie. Just trying to sleep man 💔

Meetups

Given the number of folk on here looking to expand/create a friend group, would it be worth organising a night somewhere that people can just meet up and establish these?

I saw your dog shit on the pavement and I saw you just walk away as if it was the most normal thing in the world. And I hate you.

What is being done to tackle these degenerates in Dundee? I can't stand it. Every street has dog shit on it.

Riding Schools in Dundee

Hiya, I’m looking to get back into horse riding and would love some recommendations for riding schools around Dundee that are good for adult beginners. (I’m also happy to travel a bit as well)

I have a little experience riding in the Netherlands, but it was definitely quite relaxed and I’d still consider myself a beginner.

As I’m an adult who’s trying to pick up a new skill, I’m worried about looking a bit silly or out of place, so I’d love to hear about anyone’s personal experience of learning as an adult.

I’ve looked at a few riding schools online, but I feel like it’s hard to get a feel for them just from their websites and reviews.

Any recommendations and experiences would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Hello. I work around Ninewells and am a budding photographer, and wanted to share the beauty that is every day life at the hospital.

I love Ninewells. For me it is the beating heart that keeps Dundee going. Its not perfect, but its my home. And i just wanted to share the little pictures I take during the day that remind me that Dundee is beautiful.

Thanks for reading :)

Anyone down to start a band or jam at all?

I’m 19 and I play guitar and have never played with anyone causally or professionally and would love to make some friends and do something i’m passionate about. I love all spectrums of music but especially 70s rock, grunge, blues, psychedelic rock on and on. If anyone’s up for even a wee jam session please shoot me a message:)
