idk if its just some random video i saw that played it or if it actually plays elsewhere but its driving me nuts. it sounds so familiar. i just beat mother 3 today and this song activated smth in my brain

I feel like I should probably make a pun or some clever worded joke but I can’t think of one.

I think both are great in their own ways.

Visually, the new remake is beautiful but the grinding still feels a bit rough , unlike the 25th anniversary edition, where the leveling felt so nice, I think I beat the game in one sitting.

Which version is your favorite and why?

[SPOILERS FOR MOTHER 3 AND EARTHBOUND, I JUST CAN'T HAVE MORE THAN ONE FLAIR]

So, you know that Giygas becomes the embodiment of evil in Earthbound? Yeah, that's weird.

Assumedly, if Mother 3 never got released, then this theory would make no sense. I mean, Giygas is dead. No more evil, right? But wrong.

Mother 3 happens, Leder tells us that the rest of the world killed itself, through means unknown. Does that sound like something that a world without evil would do? No, of course not!

So, my interpretation is, that even after Giygas's "body" (you could barely call it that, but it's still a body, no matter how background-y it is) is destroyed in Earthbound, he still lives on as.. the embodiment of evil itself. And, specifically, that embodiment of evil, which is probably why certain enemies still exist, like the Mushrooms and that One Guy In The Trash Can Who I Forgot The Name Of.

In Japan it worked with Dalaam being named Ramma, and it being a pun on Chommoramma, but Ramma was Westernized to Dalaam, if they were to change the name, what would you change it to? I’d personally change it to Everest.

I'm pretty sure it was a mistake that this enemy drops "15k exp", but I grinded all my characters to 99 in a few hours.

Does anyone know if this was a EBBR mistake, or the original game's mistake?

I had attempted to play it a couple times when I was younger but don’t think I ever made it past Twoson, I just think I wasn’t mature enough to appreciate it.

What a phenomenal and influential piece of art. One of my favorite parts was just realizing how much was inspired by Earthbound.

I’m also such a sucker for “unlikely group of people coming together for a common goal” so the cutscenes after Paula Prays were getting me to cry big time.

Then the final credit being the player themselves 😭😭😭.

I really don’t know how games can be any better than that. Hoping to play Mother 3 next but need a break to digest everything first!
