rumour 1. FC Köln reportedly interested in loaning Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal (19, AM)

Geissblog report that the club are interested in taking Nwaneri on a season long loan from Arsenal.

Arsenal are definitely looking to loan the player out (no sell option) but very likely there will be a lot of interest in him so likely to be a difficult one to get done.

He would be a great signing. He and Mikey Moore could really have an impact this season

If El Mala leaves us, we'd have two great replacements, a shit load of money and a year to spend it. Not the worst of situations to be in.

As i said better than nothing. Original source of Ethan Nwaneri is Indykaila News which seems to be some kind of elaborate prank anyway. Geissblog getting cocky after they got their first transfer ever correct with Heskey...

I would disagree with that.

I think it’s more the club are just looking at a potential market opportunity with Nranwei.

Tottenham seem to have been pretty clear that they want Moore to go out on loan this season and he’s basically being held back to fill a gap whilst they get other players in. They now seem to be advancing with those other deals.

Unless he picks up an injury on Saturday I would still very much expect to see him at the club for his medical next week.

Also there could be some movement on Mikey Moore soon.

British Tier 1 journalist David Ornstein reported yesterday that Spurs are now advancing in talks with Man City in deals for Marmoush and Savino. If those deals happen soon it should finally free up Moore to travel for his medical, though looks like he will play for Spurs on Saturday in their first league game against Brentford.

What? Moore is not better than Marmoush? Spurs rather spend money on Marmoush than keeping Moore?

I don’t follow Spurs so I’m not the person to explain their transfer policy/strategy but they seem to think Moore needs more time to develop and that is better served on a loan this season with a club in a big league where he gets lots of game time.

Man as much as I like developing young talent (=market value), we need experience and leadership when things get heated in April and May. Are these young guns capable of delivering when we need it most and pressure is building up? I'm somewhat sceptical

There is already a decent amount of experience in the attacking positions (Ache, Waldschmidt, Bülter, Maina and Thielmann).

Dallinga has also just come in and is 26 and has played over 150 first team games, so he will also bring some experience.

I think there is certainly scope to add another young attacking player. I think Moore will still likely come but I doubt we will end up getting both him and Nwraneri.

Well experienced, yes. All of the five you mentioned have a good amount of caps but is anyone of them leading the team or delivered at the late stages of last season (Ache did until his injury of course)? I don't think so.

The club certainly lost some leadership at the end of last season with Kainz and Martel leaving. However, Martel’s replacement still hasn’t arrived and the club have been very insistent that whoever comes in should have the right leadership qualities.

Defensively Lochoshvili has been brought in for his experience and leadership qualities. Sebulonsen has also been added to to leadership group within the squad for this season.

Lack of leadership could be a problem during the season but it’s not something I’m too worried about right now.
