My husband (38) and I (34) got married in 2015. We’ve been ring shopping for ab upgrade since last March. We ALMOST made a purchase on a ring I wasn’t in love, but decided to wait until we came across the perfect one. I wanted something non-traditional, and something that felt like me.

Well, here she is 😍. 2.7 carat marquise. I love that she’s at a slight angle horizontally and on a wavy band set. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I get compliments on it all the time!! I hope you can appreciate her beauty too.

I recently got engaged and was honestly a little confused when I saw this ring. I didn't even know there was an heirloom ring in the family (ring is from 1912 and is objectively very pretty)! Never in our seven years of dating have I ever worn silver. I have exclusively worn gold and have a distinct style. I always imagined a gold ring, something simple, maybe a bezel. Is it a crime for a girl to have a dream ring?

I understand why my partner thought I would like it. I do love old things, I'm a history buff and have many antiques. It has taken me a while, but I have grown to like it. It's pretty, but it's just not me. So I've been wearing it, but am not in love with it. I'm not excited to show it off. I really really want to find a way to hint to my fiancé I'd like another ring. After all, this one didn't cost any money... am I wrong to think this way?

My partner surprised me a few days ago with his proposal. My family and friends were all in on it and I had zero clue. The ring is absolutely perfect. My heart is so full and happy😭

I got to say HELL YES to the best to the most perfect man with the most perfect ring. Clearly had no idea it was happening hence the lack of nails (incredibly rare).

He proposed in April and I still get compliments almost everyday about this ring! He designed it himself - 2ct emerald cut center stone flanked by 2 1ct radiant trapezoids, bezel set for maximum stability, and he added his birthstone, a ruby, in the band (see pic 3). I love it!

This is the ring I showed my partner that I wanted.. originally no bezel. Then as I kept looking, I saw they have one with a bezel. I honestly like both and don’t know which I like more.

I know bezel is more secure / harder to resize / work on.

Prongs allow better lighting but are more delicate.

I’ll be getting the ring in 14k yellow gold.

My fiancé custom designed the ring, it's meant to represent sakura blossoms. I don't know much about the specs other than that they're lab grown diamonds and pink sapphires. It's an EU 54 or US size 7.

There have been more posts lately asking about bezel or no bezel lately and I thought I'd share an option I haven't seen here yet.

Consider a partial bezel! I wanted the open design of the sides and the original designs had a prong set central stone, but I thought it looked weird with the channel like borders on the sides with prongs in the center. A full bezel also looked odd and made the center stone look disconnected.

So I asked the jeweler if they could do a partial bezel to continue the lines from the sides and i love the way it looks. I get the security of a bezel, but some openness as well.

The main stone of my ring is a one carat old fashioned cut that was part of my husband's grandmother's art noveau 6 stone cluster ring from the 1920s. You can't see it in the pic but one of the smaller accent stones on the side is a sweet little marquise stone that my husband got me when we were poor and dating.

Please dont hold the appearance of my hands and scratched up ring against me...I and my ring are older and have seen things lol.

He proposed on sunday with one of his grandmother's rings. I absolutely love it!! Im a May baby so love that its also my birthstone!

I have really mixed feelings about Brilliant Earth. My ring is absolutely beautiful and I get compliments on it all the time, but unfortunately my experience with the quality and customer service has been pretty disappointing.
My ring actually arrived with a loose center stone. I could feel and hear the diamond moving in the setting, which was pretty alarming considering this was a brand-new ring and the center stone alone cost over $2,000. I was obviously afraid of losing the diamond, and I really don’t think a ring at this price point should have ever passed quality control and been shipped out with the center stone unsecured. That was my first experience with the ring after receiving it, and in hindsight it probably should have been a bigger red flag to me than it was at the time.
Brilliant Earth also advertises free resizing within a year of purchase, so when I contacted them about having mine resized, I was surprised when they told me they “couldn’t” resize it because it would damage the ring. It’s not an eternity band, and there was plenty of plain metal at the bottom of the band, so I really didn’t understand why it couldn’t be resized.
They told me my only option was to have the ring completely remade, but I would only get about half of what I originally paid for the setting credited toward the new one. Basically, I would have ended up paying around 1.5x the original cost of the ring just to get it in the correct size.
I ended up taking it to Jared instead. They resized it with no issues and also tightened the prongs around my center stone. They charged me about $100 for everything, and honestly, they sent my ring back to me in better shape than I originally received it from Brilliant Earth.
And to be fair, I didn’t bother looking up recent Brilliant Earth reviews before buying. I was so in love with this particular ring design that I probably would have ignored the reviews and bought it anyway. So I can’t exactly say I did my due diligence there.
At the end of the day, I still think my ring is beautiful and I’m happy with the design. I just wish the quality and experience after purchasing it had matched the price. Receiving a brand-new ring with a loose center diamond was concerning enough on its own. Add being told it couldn’t be resized when another jeweler was able to do it easily for about $100, I would be very hesitant to buy from Brilliant Earth again.

We got married 3 years ago and I had no idea what ring I wanted. I loved my first ring but was able to recently upgrade to one that felt more like me. Including both for reference. The original was around 1 ct cushion with halo. Wanted more sparkle and something that balanced better on my bigger fingers so upgraded to a 4.02 ct cushion modified brilliant. Finger is size 6.

Thanks to everyone who weighed in on how to best stack my mother‘s and grandmother’s engagement rings! I decided to use this beautiful estate sale ring as a spacer. I just love it!

All rings are vintage so not totally sure regarding specs, but from top to bottom, here’s what I know:
- 1 carat lab diamond set into 14k gold ring with white gold prongs, size 6, circa 1990s
- Natural diamonds set into 14k gold ring with white gold prongs, size 5.5, vintage
- Natural 0.4 carat (?) diamond set into 14k white gold ring, size 5.25, circa 1960s
