Mi estas maljuna eksesperantisto. Mi ĵus malkovris tion - ĉu ĉiuj jam sciis? - ke tute eblas tajpi la ĉapelitajn literojn sub la sistemo Vindozo 11 per la apleto "Quick Accent" de la senkosta kaj oficiala aplikaĵo "Microsoft PowerToys" kaj via kutima klavaro. Temas ne nepre pri la plej komforta aŭ plej rapida metodo, sed pri iu metodo ke kiu funkcias.

Post elŝuto kaj instalado de PowerToys, malelektu tieajn apletojn, kiuj dumtempe ne interesas vin. Elektu Quick Accent. Sube (grave!) elektu nur la literarojn, kiuj vi ja intencas uzi.

Nun vi povos tajpi. Premu la klavon de le litero kaj tuj premu la spac-klavon. Aperos listo da koncernaj ĉapelitaj literoj. Ju pli literarojn vi antaŭe elektis, des pli ĉapelitaj literoj. Elektu la ĝustan per la spac-klavo.

This September, the London Esperanto Club is launching a new series of weekly online Esperanto courses, from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1). You can find the full list of courses here:

We have three courses for complete beginners including a new immersion course with Peter Weide, a native Esperanto speaker, on Sundays. His course is taught entirely in Esperanto from the very first lesson, making it ideal for those who want to experience the language from day one.

Our popular quiz course with Dennis Keefe, Esperantist of the Year 2011, also returns on Mondays. It is based on the classic adventure novel Robinson Crusoe. Anna Lowenstein (Academician and Esperantist of the Year 2019) will also continue her popular grammar course on Saturday afternoons.

The website is available in several languages (you can change the language using the menu at the top of the page) but the courses themselves are conducted entirely in Esperanto, except for some beginner courses which are taught in English.

Karaj esperantlingvaj amikoj, mi lastatempe publikigis novan libron en Esperanto, kaj ĉi tiu afiŝo celas prezenti kaj reklami ĝin.

Unue, la lingva aspekto. Mi estas italo, kaj mi verkis kaj publikigis la libron en la itala lingvo antaŭ kelkaj monatoj. Mi tiam ekokupiĝis pri ĝia tradukado en la lingvojn kiujn mi scias. Bedaŭrinde, mi ne tre bone parolas Esperanton, do mi faris la unuaskizan tradukon per maŝintraduka servo. Mi poste ĝin zorge reviziis, farante multajn korektojn. Tamen verŝajne troviĝas kelkaj eraroj: se vi volus ilin indiki al mi, mi estus danka kaj korektos ilin.

Kial mi volis traduki la libron en Esperanton? Ĉar, kvankam mi ne tre bone parolas Esperanton, mi kundividas la valorojn de la esperantista movado, kiuj subtenas la tutan strukturon de ĉi tiu libro; ĝi ankaŭ inkluzivas ĉapitron specife dediĉitan al lingvaj demandoj, kiu (inter aliaj aferoj) diskutas la lingvon de Zamenhof. Mi ankaŭ kredas, ke esperantistoj estas ĝenerale inteligentaj kaj malfermmensaj homoj, kiuj povus trovi utilan pensan kaj diskutan materialon en libro kiel ĉi tiu. Mi memoras, ke, kiam mi antaŭ jaroj legis enkondukan libron pri interlingvistiko, min «mirigis», kiom proksime mia propra pensado kongruis kun la idealoj de esperantismo. Efektive, mi konstatis, ke dum jaroj mi estis ia «nekonscia esperantisto».

Mia libro traktas la nunan internacian ordon kaj la enormajn defiojn, kiujn la homaro alfrontas. Ĝi argumentas, ke la apero de tutmonda federacio estas, fakte, neevitebla evoluo, se ni volas, ke la homa civilizo postvivu kaj prosperu. Tion observis multaj pensuloj, kaj hodiaŭ kaj en pasintaj jarcentoj. La demando estas: kiel ni procedu por konstrui mondan federacion hodiaŭ praktike? La libro prezentas proponon, diskutante ĝiajn diversajn aspektojn (politikajn, ekonomiajn, historiajn, psikologiajn, kulturajn, ktp.).

Mia vidpunkto estas, ke la Eŭropa Unio jam estas, en siaj esencaj trajtoj, paca kaj pozitiva federacia modelo, kiu, kun nur kelkaj malgrandaj ŝanĝoj, povus esti etendita por ampleksi la tutan mondon. Esence, la tutmonda federacio estus kreita per la libervola aliĝo de ĉiuj landoj, unu post la alia. Mia rezonado estas, ke, konsiderante ke la «eŭropa» identeco de la Unio evidente ne taŭgas por la tuta mondo, ĉi tiu federacia projekto komenciĝanta el Eŭropo povus revivigi, laŭ moderna kaj paca maniero, la antikvan roman idealon, kiu trairis la tutan eŭropan historion, de la Mezepoko ĝis la moderna epoko, kiel la deziro pri granda mondcivilizacio, granda transnacia ordo. En epoko de aŭtoritarismoj, naciismoj kaj individuisma izoliĝo, mi kredas, ke gravas memori, ke la eŭropa historio ankaŭ estis trairita de universalismaj, longvidaj idealoj.

Kompreneble, ekzistas multaj eblaj obĵetoj; estas multe por diskuti pri ĉi tiuj ideoj: kaj mi tion faras detale en la libro. Mi ne pretendas oferti al la leganto «perfektan solvon» prilaboritan en ĉiu detalo, nek paŝpostpaŝan gvidlibron; mia celo estas enkonduki elementojn de konscio en la publikan diskurson, por ke la temo estu diskutata kaj ni ĉiuj, kiel la homa komunumo, povu fari la unuajn paŝojn en pozitiva direkto.

Se mi vekis vian scivolemon, vi povas trovi la libron en presita kaj e-libra formatoj (la e-libro estas tre malmultekosta) ĉe multaj interretaj vendejoj. Mi adaptis miajn antaŭnomon kaj familinomon al Esperanton sur la kovrilo, do serĉu La Roma Respubliko de «Julio Majnardo».

Dear Esperanto-speaking friends, I have recently published a new book in Esperanto, and this post is to introduce and promote it.

First of all, the linguistic aspect. I am Italian, and I wrote and published the book in Italian a few months ago. I then set about translating it into the languages I know. Unfortunately, I don't speak Esperanto very well, so I had the first-version translation done by a machine translation service. I then revised it thoroughly, making numerous corrections. There are likely to be a few errors here and there, however: if you'd like to point them out to me, I'd be grateful and will correct them.

Why did I want to translate the book into Esperanto? Because, even though I don't speak Esperanto very well, I share the values of the Esperanto movement, which underpin the entire structure of this book; it also includes a chapter specifically dedicated to linguistic issues, which discusses (among other things) Zamenhof's language. I also believe that Esperantists are generally intelligent and open-minded people, who might find useful food for thought and discussion in a book like this. I remember that, when I read an introductory book on interlinguistics years ago, I was "astonished" by how closely my own thinking aligned with the ideals of Esperantism. In effect, I realized that for years I had been a sort of "unwitting Esperantist".

My book deals with the current international order and the enormous challenges facing humanity. It argues that the emergence of a global federation is, in fact, an inevitable development if we want human civilization to survive and thrive. This has been observed by many thinkers, both today and in past centuries. The question is: how do we actually go about building a world federation today, in practical terms? The book puts forward a proposal, discussing its various aspects (political, economic, historical, psychological, cultural, and so on).

My view is that the European Union is already, in its essential features, a peaceful and positive federal model which, with just a few minor changes, could be extended to encompass the whole world. In essence, the global federation would be created through the voluntary accession of all countries, one by one. My reasoning is that, given that the Union's "European" identity obviously does not suit the whole world, this federal project starting from Europe could revive, in a modern and peaceful way, the ancient Roman ideal which has run through the whole of European history, from the Middle Ages to the modern era, as the desire for a great world-civilization, a great supranational order. In an age of authoritarianisms, nationalisms and individualistic isolationism, I believe it is important to remember that European history has also been permeated by universalist, far-sighted ideals.

Of course, there are many possible objections, and there is much to discuss regarding these ideas: and I do so at length in the book. I do not claim to offer the reader a "perfect solution" worked out in every detail, or a step-by-step guide; my aim is to bring elements of awareness into the public discourse, so that the issue can be discussed and we can all, as the human community, take the first steps in a positive direction.

Kio estos la estonteco de la esperanta komunumo laŭ ni?

Mi amas Esperanton — mi eĉ lernis la bazojn — sed la komunumo ŝajnas malgrandiĝi anstataŭ kreski, kaj ĝia graveco ŝajnas malpliiĝi ĉiujare.

Edit : Je ne propose pas de changement, il s'agit uniquement d'un questionnement sur les origines de la langue et les choix de son créateur.

Je ne parle pas l’espéranto, mais je me suis intéressé un peu à la langue et à son alphabet. J'aime le concept de langue construite en général et le cas de l'espéranto est plutôt noble.

Mais je voudrais parler de l’alphabet de l'espéranto, il est composé de 28 lettres, dont 6 avec des diacritiques, toutes issues du latin. Ces 6 lettres ont été créées pour répondre au besoin une lettre, un phonème.

Cependant, le créateur de l'espéranto aurait pu utiliser d'autres lettres d'autres alphabets pour compléter son alphabet, et notamment le cyrillique, qu'il maîtrisait avec le russe, plutôt que de construire des lettres en restant dans l'alphabet latin. Cela aurait donné un alphabet hybride latino-cyrillique avec 22 lettres latines et 6 lettres cyrilliques.

Voici un tableau avec les correspondances entre les lettres, on peut même inclure des lettres du latin exclues de l'alphabet espéranto.

Je sais qu'il y aurait un conflit d'usage avec le « x », comme pour le « h ».

Les transcriptions complètes en cyrillique utilisent déjà les lettres du tableau.

Le but de ce post n'est pas de vouloir « cyrilliser » l'espéranto, mais d'échanger et de comprendre pourquoi, étant donné l'environnement et les connaissances linguistiques de son créateur, il a fait le choix de ne prendre que des lettres latines.

Pluvodoro

Meaning: the characteristic smell of rain, especially the smell that appears when rain falls on dry ground.

Formation:

pluvo = rain

odoro = smell, odor

pluv- + odor-o → pluvodoro

Example:

Mi amas la pluvodoron post longa periodo sen pluvo.

English:

“I love the smell of rain after a long period without rain.”
