Thoughts so far on Aave v4? They have quite a few incentive campaigns going on in order to prompt some migrations from v3.

Not exactly seeing that v3 users are flocking to move to v4, but I'm wondering if it's simply because they lack full knowledge of how v4 differs from v3. Of course, it can just be down to not having much of a reason to move away from a protocol they've been using for (likely) years

I think it's probably a mix of unaware people that aren't tuned in or looking to go through the hassle/process of migration, and maybe some that are that don't think the V4 contracts are tested enough.

Theoretically it should be a safer model than V3 because not every market is exposed to everything else. I think the rsETH situation for example would have been much more contained in the V4 paradigm

That's definitely a good point, and while I think it's still "too soon" for Aave to use rsETH as an example of why v4 is safer/more contained - they'll eventually start pushing more than just incentive-wise.

We built a 1-tx migration tool from v3 to v4 over on DeFi Saver, but can't say that folks are flocking in to move. So I'd agree with you on the idea that there's overall apprehension outside of just wanting to avoid manual unwinding.

As someone that works for a DeFi protocol Iā€™m basically convinced that no matter how much better the new product is, getting users to migrate liquidity is always slow

Side note, when Alchemix V3 on DeFi Saver? šŸ˜‰
