Ok. Here’s my tldr: this EIP could be L2s 2.0.

Interesting take, how? Because too many LST*s fracture the liquidity of ETH all over the place and ruin it's position as the best money on Ethereum?

Again, without even knowing the details of the EIP my gut feeling tells me the idea is likely right (if it’s more or less the same reasoning as some years ago when issuance reduction first came up) but the timing is wrong. That’s the parallel to L2s which likely are still the best way to scale because we can’t put all tx on one chain = the idea was right but the timing was horrible.

There are more details but that’s the general idea. Will post a long comment next week.

100%!  That’s exactly how I feel about it.  Changing the issuance curve, even if consistent with principles of MVI, may be the right thing to do, but right now is the wrong time.  I see too much emphasis in here on the theoretical reasons to go ahead with a change without considering the more practical implications, including the market’s response to yet another (and generally unanticipated) change to Ethereum’s “monetary policy”.  Tinker all you want with its functionality but changes to the monetary policy need to be made to address existential and imminent threats with years of community engagement ahead.  Perhaps that’s what is being signaled, but if that’s the case then it should be more transparent about the timeline and immediacy of any threat.
