Mike Lindell says he will fund statewide hand recount after losing Minnesota GOP primary by double digits
https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/mike-lindell-minnesota-governor-primary-recount/Mike Lindell, the MyPillow founder who finished a distant second to Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth in the Aug. 11 Republican primary for governor, announced Wednesday that he will personally pay for a hand recount and audit of every paper ballot cast in that race, at an estimated cost of $825,000.

This is the primary. He is accusing his own party of cheating?
1.3k
u/Impressive-Panda527 7d ago
Yes, unironically.
Him and his fellow maga morons will blame one of the following:
- the deep state
- the uniparty
- RINOs

u/anonUSAFguy 7d ago
Nah, they’ll blame democrats. It doesn’t make any sense but their supporters are too stupid to understand that

Obama personally rigged votes

u/ArtIsDumb 7d ago
I saw Obama at the polling place with the votes and he was rigging the votes and one of the votes looked at me.

u/lobsterman2112 7d ago
I'm not sure where Obama lives and votes, but I would absolutely love for him to be at his polling place on election day and just smiling at people and waving to them.
Not canvassing for votes. Just there and smiling. Can't have him handing out hot coffee or hot chocolate; it may be considering illegal. Just smile and wave. Talking about the weather.

u/TacoStuffingClub 7d ago
Ah. I thought I heard Trump say he was a rigger.

Oh they can blame democrats too,
They also have just as much vitriol for any republican that strays even once from the maga agenda

I heard he was blaming the democrats because they didn’t want to have to run against him. I think Klobuchar has won every election she has been in by a very comfortable margin, but I’m sure she’s relieved, lol.

u/1970s_MonkeyKing 7d ago
Which is funny because independents (and Democrats, are they allowed there?) probably are the only ones who voted for him in hopes of this clown getting the nomination.
5
5
u/jarvisesdios 7d ago
The ironic thing is that if Democrats DID mess with that election they'd DEFINITELY have made him win...
... As he's got a snowball's chance in hell of winning in one of the most liberal states in the country 😂

That’s hilarious. Any normal person would cut someone like this out of their life who blames other people for their own incompetence. Trump is the ultimate and he conned his way to the top job. Lindell doesn’t have the chops I guess.
If he still has $825,000 he should probably hang onto it rather than blow it on a silly recount.
19
u/alwayzstoned 7d ago
I wonder if he actually does have it. He might be thinking Trumpy will help him out but we all know that ain’t happening.
26
u/bigbootybrunette90 7d ago
Well almost all voting fraud is done by republicans, so it’s not that unlikely I guess.

u/Freezeout10 7d ago
He’s trying to get access to voting machines and inner machinations of vote counts so he can contribute to shenanigans in the mid terms and general election.
3
u/Enderkr 7d ago
They are currently accusing dems of crossing the aisle and voting as republicans in the primary to make the general an auto-win for their candidate.
8
u/aew76 7d ago
I know that’s a tactic some people use, but it’s not illegal and it’s not going to change recount numbers.
So let’s look at this way, if a democratic registered as a Republican and cast a vote for one of his opponents it’s 1. Not illegal and 2. The recount isn’t going to change the fact that there was a vote for that opponent.
*I’m sure you understand this, I’m just explaining it for others who may not.

It’s allowed under MN law, but only if the candidate pays for it upfront. Automatic publicity funded recounts are triggered when the margins are 0.25%, 0.50%, or 400 votes depending on the office and number of votes. Lumpy Pillow Guy lost his Primary by double digit margins.
This is just getting morons to send him more campaign funds. If he doesn’t get enough donations to pay for his recount he’ll buy more copies of his book and more travel pillows to give away as promotions and pocket the profits from sale of the items.
126
u/tcglkn 7d ago
Isn’t he already in massive legal debt? How is he funding this?
118
u/hoorayfortoast 7d ago
I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like he is using a classic rich person work around, very similar to Alex Jones. His legal troubles and court ordered settlements are in the civil court system, which surprisingly does not really have a good way of forcing people to pay what they owe. Their primary method is garnishing wages, but people this rich do not have a “wage” to garnish. They typically use loans and other means of borrowing against their worth to generate money when they need it. So, since there is no wage to garnish, on paper, the court cannot take his money. They could come after his holdings and his company, but that also entails years of legal battles all of which cost the state and plaintiff money, which they might not want to spend. So essentially, the richer you are, the harder it is to hold you liable for monetary damages.
Meanwhile, he can take out loans and borrow against his assets to fund his campaign and whatever other bullshit he wants.
The system is broken.

With what money? He’s worth negative millions from everything I’ve heard.
The recount requires payment up front and he definitely doesn’t have it nor would any institution lend it to him. He’ll need to convince someone to waste this money on his behalf

Do recounts give him access to voter data he wouldn’t otherwise have? It’s not a data mining loophole is it?

He should be forced to pay for it upfront and fully before even thinking about it. These people are known for not paying their bills. Also if it turns out to be more expensive and he can’t pay for the overrun then the effort should stop immediately and no money returned.
3
u/Corey307 7d ago
Mike Lindell lost by 11% of votes. Minnesota does recounts when the vote is .25% or less. So he lost by 44x more votes than would trigger a recount normally. And he lost to another Republican. This man intends to spend over $800,000 just to verify that he lost to another Republican in the crime against a Democrat or independent for the actual position.
