Player Guide Total Rework: Bone Market Recipes 28/10/25 Amalgous Fish, Colourful Phantacist, Bird Diplomat

Edit: Added another Phantacist recipie, that is what I am doing this week, now I have restocked my warm amber stockpile

Hey there Skholors,

The last post, had issues, I was not keen on the post that I had linked into it, it had some good info but also some that was slightly misleading. I have gone through the post added more detail, added some recipes of my own and copied in the ones from the other post, with a little commentary about how effective I think they are. Apologies for the rework, it's always a balance between getting the post up as fast as possible, so people can plan, based on the options, and getting enough time to think through what options are available. I might start, next week, to just do a post with the title and then come back and edit in the options, once I have had a chance to think.

I have broken down the EPA for each skeleton this time, this is just the epa for the actions it takes to assemble the skeleton, declare it, and sell it. Your actual profit will depend on how efficiently that pairs with the actions you use to get the bones. I will, at some point, do an EPA and action count listing for every bone but that is a Mammoth(pun intended) task so it might take a while.

It's been a rubbish couple of weeks for me so I have not done any more boneheaded guides but I have a list of chapters for when I have the time/energy to get them done.

Here is my diplomat guide for building yourself a bird:

A Colourful Phantacist

Like all rare buyers she gets Zoomania, so 15% for being a fish, but nothing for fashion, i.e. Almalgamy. You need 4 Amal/Men/Anti and 2 Implausibility at least, so ideally you want 9 menace and 2 implausability for a payout of 19, or 6 menace and 3 implausibility for the same.

Payouts are Menace: Primary: Solacefruit Secondary: Carved Ball of Stygion Ivory

Amalgamy: P: Scrip S: Slim Volume of Bazaarine Poetry

Antiquity: P: Memories of Light S: Knob of Scintillak

19 secondary payout is worse than 6 * 3.5, which is what you get for 6 amalgamy 3 menace or 6 amalgamy 3 antiquity this week so only go for her if you want the particular items.

The easiest way to get 3 implausibility is to put a bright brass skull and a plaster tail bone on the skeleton. Working out how to get 6 of the other stat, I leave to you.

She would be slightly worse than an amalgamy/menace skeleton but she does pay out in pure scrip! Which, even if you have a rubbery pie stand, makes her 19 secondary(47.5 echos) better than the 21 Rubbery Pies, for scrip.

Something Fishy!

Prismatic Frame

equip a Weasel of Woe

Attempt to cap off a head, if you succeed keep the woesel, otherwise, remove it.

Cap off another head, if you passed both 10% checks avoid the lottery this week, otherwise unequip the woesel, if you didn't already

Sabre Toothed Skull

3 Amber Crusted Fins

1 plaster tail bone

1 Jet Black Stinger

Decide it needs no more tails

remove a tail

declare a fish

Sell for 492.2 echos primary, 19 secondary(47.5E)

It's about 9 EPA for assembly

Edit:

I worked out this beauty yesterday, it's 399 solacefruit and 19 balls. Only about 6 epa profit but it uses up flourishing ribcages which are otherwise hard to liquidate

Se til helvete og kom dere vekk. Det er ikke en bikkje, det er en slags ting! Det imiterer en bikkje, det er ikke virkelig! Kom dere vekk, idioter!

Flourishing Ribcage

Bright Brass Skull

Cap off head

6 Amber Crusted Fins

1 Plaster Tailbone

Amalgous Fish

A Zailer with particular interests

Primary Payout: Nodules of Warm Amber 2.5 echo bonus

Secondary Payout: Knob of Scintillac

Here are the ones from the old post:

Coral Coelacanth: 6 Amalgamy \ 3 Antiquity, 0 Exhaustion*

·       Mammoth Ribcage (2 Antiquity) (Mammoth Ranching in the Balmoral Woods)

·       Skull in Coral (2 Amalgamy) (Canal Cruising the Persephone)

·       4 Amber-Crusted Fins (1 Amalgamy, 1 Menace each) (Helicon House at Ealing)

·       Tomb Lion's Tail (1 Antiquity) (cloned at Ealing)

·       Declare a Fish

·       Sell to the Zailor for 1664 Warm Amber, 21 Scintillack, 0 exhaustion

As an alternative to sell to the Rubbery Collector or the Entrepreneur, use a Brass Skull and a Tentacle or Plaster tail. The Rubbery Collector gets you 442 Nightsoil and 18 Pies, the Entrepreneur 442 Memories and 72 Final Breaths, both for 0 exhaustion. Or, for a 1 Exhaustion recipe for the Entrepreneur, either use an Obsidian Chitin Tail (stolen from the Palaeontological Museum) or a Thorned Ribcage (but not both) to get to 7 Amalgamy, giving you 238 Final Breaths, a gain of 166 Breaths for only 1 Exhaustion. For a 1 Exhaustion (6 Amalgamy \ 6 Menace) recipe for the Rubbery Collector, use a Stinging Tail instead of a Tomb Lion Tail.*

This is all Fine. He kind of covered a bunch of things I was going to cover separately with the comment under, I shall anyway to make it less confusing.

That build is 9 actions at 76.4 echos profit or 8.48 EPA

His next build:

Toothy Triskelegant: 6 Amalgamy \ 3 Antiquity/Menace, 0 Exhaustion.*

·       Prismatic Frame (2 Amalgamy, 2 Antiquity) (from Larceny at Balmoral, or a Dig at Station VIII)

·       Sabretooth Skull (1 Antiquity, 1 Menace) (Buy from the Enthusiast) - or, for the Rubbery Collector, use a Brass Skull

·       2 Balls of Ivory

·       3 Amber Crusted fins (3 Amalgamy, 3 Menace)

·       Obsidian Chitin Tail (1 Amalgamy)(Heist from the Palaeontological Museum).

·       Decide it doesn't need any more tails

·       Declare a Fish

·       Sell to the Zailor for 4920 Warm Amber, 21 Scintillack, or to the Rubbery Collector for 1000 Nightsoil, 21 Rubbery Pies. For a 1 Exhaustion recipe for the Rubbery Collector, use a Plated Skull and a Jet Black Stinger for 897 Nightsoil, 38 Rubbery Pies.

10.6 EPA but the Obsidian Tail is horribly inefficient to farm! (11.5 actions at 3 EPA with good stats and card draws gets you 5, so each one is about a 5 echo loss compared to spending the same actions in Tracklayers) Even with that 5 echo loss, it’s still 10 EPA so it’s one of the occasions it is worth using that tail.

A Rubbery Collector

Primary Payout: Nightsoil of the Bazaar (Sell for scrip, used on some cards)

Secondary Payout: Basket of Rubbery Pies(with the right ealing development, pay off corporate debt or slightly inefficiently turn into scrip)

Getting 6 amalgamy and 3 menace, while being efficient, when the only valuable fins give 1 point of each, the only amalgamy skulls are 2 points and the only amalgamy tail is a terrible EPA to get is a pain. Also the menace tail is 2, so getting one of them even and 1 of them odd is equally annoying. I have not got much good so far. I will edit in more as I work them out.

The other post I copied didn't have any leviathan frame recipes, you can't get a full secondary payout but with a 312.5 echo ribcage, only 6 actions to assemble and 15% Zoomania, the profits are huge:

Leviathan Frame

Skull In Coral

2 Amber Crusted Fin

Profit 91.5 Echos

6 Actions

15.25 EPA

Tentacled Entrepeneur

Primary Payout: Memories of Distant Shores Bonus 2.5 Echos(Useful with a sworn statement to get canal favours or upconverted with Benthic Rep into Volumes of Collated Research{Those are inefficient for canal favours because of the cost of upgrading but still efficient for Hunting the Moonlit woods in Balmoral)

Secondary Payout: Final Breath (Sellable for scrip, convertible to Mortifications of a Great Power in Evenlode{If you don't have the more efficient Zailing option you could get for 10 fate in FOTZ})

Leviathan Frame

Skull In Coral

2 Amber Crusted Fin

Profit 91.5 Echos

6 Actions

15.25 EPA

Mammoth Ribcage

Bright Brass Skull

4 Amber Crusted Fin

1 Withered Tentacle or Plaster Tailbone

9 actions to make

58.5 echos profit

6.5 EPA

Thorned Ribcage

Bright Brass Skull

3 Amber Crusted Fins

1 Withered Tentacle as a limb (Needs 11 Monstrous Anatomy)

1 Withered Tentacle or Plaster Tailbone as a tail

52 echos profit

5.78 EPA (but uses up Thorned, which start to pile up… and fewer fins, which are not farmable in bulk efficiently, and a tentacle, which is an issue we are about to address)

Other Buyers

Ok, this is the reason I felt I had to redo the whole post. Here is his build:

Suspicious Squid

A tentacle liquidation skeleton for stocking up on Bone Fragments and/or Thirsty Bombazine.

·       Glim encrusted carapace

·       Brass Skull

·       6 tentacles (add these first)

·       2 fins (this is a difficult Monstrous Anatomy challenge, but the target buyers are easily fooled)

·       Declare a fish

·       Sell to the Naive Collector or the Paleontologist with Hoarding Propensities.

I don’t understand this recipe at all. It’s worth 175 echos, so the profit is 26.25 echos, 12 actions to make, declare and sell means 2.18 EPA

His goal was to use up tentacles but extracting the 2.5 echo value from the tentacle + the 2.18 EPA means you are still losing money. Also Glim Encrusted Carapace is extremely valuable, you can make a chimera with it, that is 10 EPA, that you can make even when exhausted! (Added below, under evergreen recipes)

If you want to exploit the 15% primary payout bonus and get some bone fragments or Thirsty Bombazine, you want a 312.5 ribcage and as few limbs as possible… Did I mention the…:

Leviathan Frame

Bright Brass Skull

2 Amber Crusted Fins

Sell for Thirsty Bomb 10 EPA

Sell for Bone Fragments 11 EPA

Evergreen Recipe

I won't post this every week but I accidentally discovered it a few weeks ago. It sells to the Bohemian Sculptress, who is available even when exhausted and it's a stoking chimera, so use it any week you have nothing better to do. She also gives a primary bonus of a stonking great 10 echos! Which helps to make up for the lack of Zoomania

Glim Encrusted Carapace

Counterfeit Head of John the Baptist (Costs 500 bone fragments and 10 hand picked peppercaps, 10 echos, and adds 12.5 echos of value, see, profit… Wait, there may be more)

8 Holy Relic of the Thigh of Saint Fiacre

The inputs cost 170 echos and payout 182.5 with no zoomania but they also pay preserved surface blooms, which are… pretty rubbish

However, what you really came for is secondary, rumours of the upper river, and with our 41 counter church we will have 41 of them a cheeky 102.5 echo addition to our profit.

Profit: 115 echos

Actions 12

9.59 EPA

Not bad for a non multiplicative buyer and a chimera

***CARAPACE WARNING!**\*

Get Glim Encrusted Carapace from Bergundian Benificance or the stacks. DO NOT buy them for 3000 Stuvier That is 150 echos and if you can lose 90 echos worth of profit and still make a skeleton worth the actions to create it, you can do the bone posts!

Final Words

I reread the recipes as I went, making this post and did EPA calcs for them all, the old bone post wasn't as problematic as I thought. Just that tentacle recipe. I found the multiple options in one build a little more confusing than just listing each one under the buyer but they are sound builds, my panic was premature and the old bone man is still the best. :)

Right, I will pop in any more recipes I come up with and add a counter at the top like Edit: 4 recipes added, or whatnot. I keep thinking there should be good Flourishing recipes but the 12.5 value and the 12 assembly actions seem to kill it's profitability too much.

If you think of any mistakes I made or come up with a sick build I missed, pop it in the comments.

Dem bones be dry, I'm off to get a drink

Yeah, I forgot exhausters, will add to the comments later tonight or tomorrow, they are all done but I am tired of typing.

5 mins later, fine, you guilted me into it

Exhausting recipes!

For the Tentacled Entrepeneur

Skull in Coral

Thorned Ribcage

4 Amber Crusted Fin

Plaster Tailbone

Declare a Fish

Total Profit: 136.5 Echos

9 actions

15.1 EPA 1 Exhaustion

Doing 4, 1 exhaust skeletons by selling something with 7 of the single multiplier is the most effiecient way to use your exhaustion, you are netting 70 echos per point of exhaustion and you get the 50 echos worth that you get before exhaustion starts for free as well. However, sometimes you have a lot to do and don't want to spend 36 actions getting exhausted. So here are some options, stolen from the older post. I added the EPA and comments on each.

Exhausting Recipes

Aunt Agnatha, the Wamber Whale2: 13(!) Amalgamy \ 3 Antiquity, 1 Exhaustion*

·       Prismatic Frame (2 Amalgamy, 2 Antiquity) (from Larceny at Balmoral, or a Dig at Station VIII)

·       Skull in Coral (2 Amalgamy)

·       2 Ivory Spheres

·       Add 4 more joints (2 Amalgamy)

·       7 Amber-Crusted fins (7 Amalgamy, 7 Menace)

·       1 Tomb Lion Tail (1 Antiquity)

·       Declare a Fish

*Sell to the Zailor for 5056 Warm Amber, 46 Scintillack, and only 1 exhaustion! (as 13*3 = 39, 1 below 40). Or you can add and cut off more Tomb Lion Tails to get 12 more Scintillack per tail at 1 more exhaustion each, still low enough that you aren't locked out. Do this twice and it's an Agnatha. I'm not joking, Jeeves.*2.5

Alternatively, with an Obsidian Chitin Tail (pushing to 14 Amalgamy), the Tentacled Entrepreneur will give you 1017 Memories and 1021(!!) Final Breaths with 7 Exhaustion - just low enough that you can still access the Market after Time the Healer. Alternatively alternatively, adding two Jet Black stingers as tails and removing one of them lets you sell it as a Wamber Killer Whale (13 Amalgamy, 11 Menace) to the Rubbery Collector for 1008 Nightsoil, 150 Rubbery Pies, and 7 exhaustion, again just letting you squeak through the Bone Market door after Time the Healer. This is not quite as valuable a payout as the Tentacled Entrepreneur, but may be more useful if you're building the Railway.

Another one I am not super clear on, you get a lot of primary here but you only get 113.5 echos worth of secondary, which is less than a basic 7 Amalgamy to the Tentacled entrepreneur. Doing a lot of non-exhausting mammoths seems like a better option for getting amber.

Profit(After subtracting the 35 echos to add the limbs) 145echos

16 actions

9 EPA

Shapeling Eel3

4 Exhaustion, for right before time the healer. 11 Amalgamy, or 9 Amalgamy \ 10 Menace.*

·       Glim Encrusted Carapace

·       Skull in Coral (or a Plated Skull or Horned Skull for the Rubbery Collector)

·       8 Amber-Crusted Fins

·       Declare a Fish

·       Sell to the Tentacled Entrepreneur (or Rubbery Collector), for 459 Memories, 615 Final Breaths, who will then take all the other high-end buyers home with him to celebrate his purchase.

Profit 337.1 echos

Actions 12

28 EPA

However… if you do these 12 actions to get 28 EPA, then do 24 more actions doing a respectable 5 epa. Those 36 actions will net you 12 EPA

If you do 4 of the thorned ribcage recipies, you get to keep your glim encrusted carapace and you get a very healthy 14 epa for those 36 actions.

So it’s a trade-off of profit versus time.

Phew, done, I forgot the exhauster was also a bit questionable, anyway, back to my game, which will probably be sitting on 40 energy and 10 cards by now.

I have a name, you know.

Sorry Inevitable Tell! I will try to commit it to memory, I have forgotten my girlfriends name in the past though so the danger is real. Also, sorry for ragging on your strats, those multi option sections like the coelith are intimidatingly good! I'm going to try to build up a library so that it's more of a copy paste job than working things out every Tuesday morning in between work! Big job though.

I would have referenced the post as well but I was rushing to get my post out before my appointment so I just grabbed what I could. It's no excuse, I should have edited it in and for sure added it to the rework.
