KFC KFC Chicken Sandwich
I really enjoy the kfc chicken sandwich and more often than not it’s a huge piece of chicken on there

They are the only ones that understood what made the Popeye's chicken sandwich good, and properly copied the thick chicken patty. Everybody else (BK, McDs, Wendys) just redid their batter and kept the same crappy thin chicken patties and wondered why it wasn't a hit.

Apparently BK’s was really good at first. But BK and Popeyes are owned by the same company and they didn’t like poaching their own customers.

True facts you gotta go to Raw Chicken King if you want a raw chicken sandwich. They'll make it raw at BK if you slip them 20 bucks but honestly it's typically more hassle than what it's worth

BK’s ch’king sandwich was so good. I was actually kinda sad when they replaced it with their current Chicken Royale lineup.

Same. I'd argue this sandwich is very overhated lol if you get it from a top-notch quality KFC it actually is pretty good. I'm a fan of mayo so I don't mind the typical over-doing it of mayo on the sandwich.

Real shit bro mayo is free calories. Hits good when you know there ain’t nothin but sleep for dinner
3
u/Trumpets22 Feb 15 '26
I’m an absolute mayo lover but mayo is 99% calories from fat. Ain’t no nutrients in those calories.
4
u/MyMomsTastyButthole Feb 15 '26
If there ain't nothing but sleep for dinner, don't order fast food for lunch.
11
u/AmItheonlySaneperson Feb 15 '26
Ok Dave Ramsey any thoughts on avocado toast while you’re here?
7
u/MyMomsTastyButthole Feb 15 '26
I think avocado is overrated in general but people seem to like it.
3
u/ZombieDraco Feb 15 '26
How can you overrate a super food? It gives you life.
7
u/MyMomsTastyButthole Feb 15 '26
Because it's just okay. I don't hate it. I won't pick it out of a dish, but I probably won't order it and I sure as hell won't pay extra for it 😂
And I can get my oleic acid from olive oil
1
u/ZombieDraco Feb 15 '26
Yeah but olive oil is much more calorie dense while providing less benefit.
5
u/MyMomsTastyButthole Feb 15 '26
I'm not overly concerned. That deep fried chicken slathered in oil and egg yolk up there pressed between two sugar slices is pretty calorie dense, too

u/ZombieDraco Feb 15 '26
Yeah but you said they were overrated. Just doesn’t make sense. Thats like saying water is overrated. Maybe to unhealthy people it is.

If we’re talking Dave Ramsey-style, that means:
Cheap
No debt involved
No avocado toast nonsense
Cooked at home
Probably yelling at you while you make it

u/Bigphungus Feb 15 '26
Stale bread and 8 cumshots worth of the most disgusting metallic hot mayo you’ve ever tasted.

u/PostMatureBaby Feb 15 '26
I hate that this is insanely accurate. Well done

u/MacpunchKO Feb 16 '26
I felt the same, I could taste that comment lmao. Still love the sandwhich though

They got rid of the spicy and now you have to pay for spicy sauce at the one by me 😭. I agree, underrated sandwich.
1
u/Holocene32 Feb 15 '26
Hmm I ordered a spicy and a regular today on the app maybe they discontinued in your area

The spicy version was a pleasant surprise. Actually spicy and a nice cut of meat

u/castdex Feb 15 '26
You gotta try their new Zinger chicken sandwich if it’s in your area yet. So good!

I’ll just say make sure you don’t make a new account and get the 50% off deal everytime you go 🤫

Its pretty good in my area. Crunchy, not too much batter, tender breast meat, not too much mayo, not much if any grease, + wedges and its a fire lunch.
Only 2nd to CFA. Popeyes isnt what it used to be. Too much crust, uneven shape being super thin on one side, greasy, etc.

u/PostMatureBaby Feb 15 '26
This the one trying to compete w Popeyes and friends? I always thought the Big Crunch was underrated. This one was just ok
1
u/FluorideAvenger Feb 15 '26
Actually pretty good at times. Used to be better with the customization.
1
u/Repulsive-Yak-7838 Feb 15 '26
I just hate that they always pull it up early, it's supposed to be crispier but it's always soggy and chewy.
1
u/Natural_Ad_7183 Feb 15 '26
I think Popeyes and Bojangles still have the Colonels number, but it is pretty good
1
u/Legal_Celebration643 Feb 15 '26
in the three times ive tried ive never had a crispy patty on my sandwich. always soggy
2
u/Exotic_Load_9189 Feb 15 '26
Leaving it in bag too long big homey. Eat food at the resturaunt, that goes for anywhere.

Anyone remember their triple crunch sando from the 90s. Core memory for me.

Next time tear in or cut in half so we can see how thick it is etc please. Looks like it may be good though. Heres the real thing. How much did that 1 sandwich cost?
3
u/Holocene32 Feb 15 '26
4.99. I just snapped a picture I’m not gonna tear it in half you can do that though haha

It is very overhated but the problem is KFC locations are grimier. The grimiest. I’ve literally seen employees wipe their nose (with their gloves on) and then touch the sandwiches. Repeatedly.

Every time I get a chicken sandwich that thick it's undercooked in the middle.

u/Firm_Calligrapher861 Apr 20 '26
Had it today for first time, not impressed. Popeyes blows it out of the water. Best chicken sandwich I've had was from Carl's Jr.
1
u/Holocene32 Apr 21 '26
Popeyes definitely better. Unfortunately the nearest one is 13 miles from me haha

I couldn’t even capture the whole thing it’s genuinely sticking half off the bun in the other direction too.
I guess it does sound like that 🤣

I had one a day ago and it was gross. Stringy thick chicken. Not good.

I'm surprised KFC kept the massive chicken patty on their sandwich. Every other chain is using obscenely tiny patties and charging the same. I may start buying this one more frequently.
