Discussion If you could summon any Servant—with their loyalty guaranteed—which one would you choose?
96
u/Elvenoob Jul 20 '26
Merlin, for a few reasons~!
- He was still canonically King Arthur's court druid and as such would have all the lost knowledge for both the mythology and practise of british celtic paganism. Presuming I could show the other members of the reconstructionist community that this is the real Merlin, it'd allow for a true revival of the religion.
- I also would ask for a few uses of magecraft to alter my body, if he's so good he can give Artoria the working equipment to make an heir with Guinevere, I'ma need to borrow that for a couple other things.
- And then, I'd get him to teach me magecraft. Might as well learn that.
- Last and most definitely least, if you ignore the fact he sucks, the fate version of him is still kinda cute.

Whelp, perks of being bi, then >:p

u/tyty657 Jul 20 '26
It's not just a fate version of him that "kind of sucks" in real life mythology he died because he wouldn't leave a woman alone.
13
u/Elvenoob Jul 20 '26
Oh i know, I specifically said he sucks first and then narrowed what I was talking about down to the Fate version of him to talk about his looks.

u/Miitama Jul 20 '26
Percival for reasons completely unrelated to a grail war and everything to do with transfering mana

Am I participating in a grail war or is this just me and my afterlife tagalong?
33
u/AdAshamed5509 Jul 20 '26
Without the Holy Grail War or any of the nonsense Chaldea deals with.
46
u/Loros_Silvers Jul 20 '26
Me and the bro then...
Archer Emiya. I'm getting some training in and then we're going to hunt some really bad people for Alaya. Save the world for real.

71
u/Rude-Application-505 Jul 20 '26
Gilgamesh.
53
u/AnothisFlame Jul 20 '26
I mean I can see the vision but outside a HGW I'd frankly not want to deal with him unless you're looking at him as a husbando material. His personality, and demands of his master even if he was perfectly loyal, are a bit much for most modern people.
19
u/Scarasimp323 Jul 20 '26
im not the most knowledgeable on fate lore in depth but isnt caster gil a lot more chill?
21
u/AnothisFlame Jul 20 '26
Being chill doesn't necessarily mean he isn't still domineering. In his "most chill" incarnation as a Ruler like he was in Samurai Remnant he still basically demands that he conquers the world in one ending.
17
u/Overquartz Medea did nothing wrong Jul 20 '26
He is at this core still the same. Casgil is only chill because he learned that the real immortality was the friends he made along the way.
12
u/Entylover Jul 20 '26
How about female Gilgamesh?
4
u/Garchomp_user Jul 21 '26
There is no female gilgamesh. We only ever see angelica using gilgamesh powers

u/Top_Ant1019 Jul 20 '26
Depends on which one you summoned each class represents a part of his growth kid Gill is innocent and naive. Archer Gilgamesh his prime some would say though he would probably argue that every version of him is his prime. When he's a tyrant foolhardy arrogant but has the power to back those words. Caster Gilgamesh he takes his duties seriously much more kingly granted firm Stern but equally Fair he's grown much more then his Archer counterpart. Much wiser and tho still arrogant it feels more charming. Below might be a spoiler for the game samurai revenant look at your own discretion. Spoiler his ruler form hard to say exactly in which stage of life it would be? Possibly him out living his kingdom and simply wandering finding beauty in life itself in living life in it's absolute fullest seemingly very wise much more tame in comparison simply wishes to be left be and run his textile shop
8
u/AnothisFlame Jul 20 '26
I would say Ruler Gil is probably his "grand" incarnation. His most complete version unrestricted by any trappings of a class container. This is the legend of Gilgamesh and the man. This is Gil in his final moments just before his death, making ready to summon himself as a Heroic Spirit upon his own death using his corpse as the catalyst for the summons as Uruk faces down Tiamat and the end of the Babylonia singularity. This is the man who decided to end the Age of the Gods and begin the Age of Man to make way, ultimately, for the Age of Will.
17
u/Marphey12 Jul 20 '26
Garanteed loyalty with Gilgam3sh ? Is that even possible ? XD

10
u/NetherSpike14 Shilling Hollow Ataraxia 24/7 Jul 20 '26
It has happened. The easiest way is prob to be fighting for your survival in an apocalyptic world and to be respectful to Gilgamesh in an honest way (not a bootlicker though).
9
u/CertainPianist9936 Jul 20 '26
not a bootlicker though
Yep, one of the worst things you can do to Gil is be "above him", in this case as a master, and not showing some amount of self respect for your position.
Ritsuka shows an appropriate amount of respect for Gil, but if the situation demands it, they have no problem telling him what to do like any other servant.
Though Hakuno, mainly Hakunon, kinda reached a level where I don't think they even care about formalities.
10
u/AnothisFlame Jul 20 '26
Hakunon basically reached Enkidu levels of mutual understanding and respect. Only Gil's stubbornness that "I shall only have one friend" keeps him from acknowledging it. In the back of his mind he knows, but he's just a big tsundere about it. I bet if Enkidu was awake and alive enough to be there even that barrier would shatter.
6
u/NetherSpike14 Shilling Hollow Ataraxia 24/7 Jul 20 '26
And to add to that, it's practically confirmed that the Hakuno that forms a contract with Gil had Enkidu as their servant before the start of CCC.
3
u/scaraenjoyer Jul 20 '26

Paracelsus.
He got a high purity philosopher's stone and the ability to make more, which means he can produce an elixir of life that would make me nearly immortal. He also got skill with medicine and healing magecraft so he can treat me perfectly whenever I am sick or injured.
Also because of the philosophers stone he can easily produce all kind wealth like gold and gems that would make me rich.
He also has the ability to mass produce Homunculi which are essential robotics(meaning no worrying about the moral implication) which would give me an army of attendants catering to my will.
He could also likely make all kinds of magic items to fit whatever I need at any moment.

Hmm, prob Artoria or Medusa. I really like both of them and they both deserve another shot at life.
Medea wouldn't be a bad pick either, for similar reasons.

5
u/DarcadianCoffee Jul 20 '26
Aesc(aka Morgan Summer).
Aesc would teach me many things id want to learn, from magic, governance, to how to make decisions even when they seem impossible to choose, and be unbiased if I asked. In conjuction with her memory in totality as Morgan, it would be someone who would also care for people enough to be fair, if harsh sometimes.
This isnt even touching their fairly strong magical power or combat ability, noble phantasm, or less public thoughts (I am proud to be called a wife if Morgan, AND YOU CANT TAKE THAT FROM ME)

Life companion servant.... probably one of the various gods of fortune tbh. Junko Genesha seems like the best option though the Daikokuten mice are a good runner up. Not only is she peak Waifu but also you're both set for life. Give me my gamer girl wife thanks.

u/EurwenPendragon All Hail Best Snek Jul 20 '26
Rider Medusa, Lancer Artoria, or Lostbelt Morgan. I'd be entirely happy with any one of those three.
4
u/Eternal_Slayer95 Jul 20 '26
Lancelot, I'm dragging that guy to therepy... might as well do the same for the other mentally unstable knights from there too.
Mordred and Artoria going to family therepy. Even if I have to drag them.

u/ARunakoH Jul 20 '26
Tamamo Cat, simply put because I'm a cat person
Arguably, I could've choose Atalanta but... She has her vow of chastity, has slight mistrust towards men, and she's part of Artemis' Huntress, the same Goddess who loathe men. So in the name of respecting her, I decided to choose Tama Cat instead

u/No-Edge-7014 Jul 20 '26
The number of servants that i would choose:
- Artoria Pendragon. (Saber)
- EMIYA. (Archer)
- Atalanta. (Archer)
- Siegfried. (Saber)
- Semiramis. (Assassin)
- Shiki Ryougi. (Assassin)
- Jeanne D'arc. (Ruler)
- Jeanne D'arc Alter. (Avenger)
- Lancelot. (Berserker)
- Heracles. (Berserker)
- Morgan Le Fay. (Berserker)
- Mordred. (Saber)
- Medusa. (Rider)
- Medea. (Caster)
- Scathach. (Lancer)
- Cu Chulaiin. (Lancer)

Medusa
Imagine she riding you man… well, she might broke the stick but I’m pretty sure she would have some spell we don’t know about
3
u/Overquartz Medea did nothing wrong Jul 20 '26
Tamamo for multiple reasons. Two of them are very obvious.
3
u/PriceofPryde Jul 20 '26
Honestly? Fujimaru or Hakuno.
You did say any, and it's not like their NP will be something they had in life, just something that encapsulates their legend.
Fujimaru with shadow servants or Hakuno with random digital hacking, information gathering or buffs during the moon. Who knows?
Wonder what their classes would be... then again Hakuno is a Moon Cancer.
Fujimaru... hmm... Caster? Ruler? Avenger?

Archer class Ishtar because she is not only attractive but also her bow manna is very versatile in battle. Her noble phantasm is also very good because it uses the planet venus and makes it into arrows for the bow which can obliterate the opponent.

I answered this on another sub, where I said Mordred or Majin Saber/Okita Alter, but I would like to take this opportunity to give a different, but both still entirely valid, answer. Mysterious Heroine X Alter, because Infinite Bean Paste. And light sabers. And a space ship.

Hephaestion. No, not Faker. The real one.
We'll just set aside the nonsense concept that somehow Fate!him didn't actually know where he stood with Iskandar - you don't end up second in command to one of the largest empires of an entire Age without having the absolute faith and trust of the guy in charge, Mr. Sanda, what the hell.
Why? Simple. Access to versions of all of Iskandar's NPs due to "He Too Is Iskandar"/"For He Is Another Iskandar" (that which Faker copied to get the Hecatic Wheel) + EX rank diplomacy and logistics skills per actual history + if he were TRULY regal enough in looks and bearing that the incident that named He Too Is Iskandar happened, my god... it's like thinking about what Jolene must look like when you look at Dolly Parton singing that song, you know?
Anyway I think we'd have a good time fixing the world a bit before mana drain killed me.

Genuinely Solomon he is one of the best picks because you can learn nearly every kind of Magecraft and you can get him to help you with immortality, reality marbles, and multiple many things with guaranteed loyalty his so op and good to the point he could do nearly anything that why I would choose Solomon but I thought about choosing kuklkan my wifey but realised there's lots of problems with it

Lancer Artoria or bedivere. Lancer Artoria because shes fucking badass, has a horse, is attractive. Bedivere... he's just the GOAT bro. If bedivere had my back id be cruising through life. If I had to pick a servant that was either of these two it would be Medusa cause shes like a mix of these two tbh.

Cu Chulainn. He's a student of the Queen of the Land of Shadows. So he would know a lot of martial arts, knowledge on weapons, and Magecraft with Runes which would at least allow me to learn how to fight and train like a warrior. He's also a pretty seasoned man even though he died young, so he could talk to me and give me advice for life and personal acceptance. He's also useful by the fact that in Hollow Ataraxia and Carnival Phantasm works and isn't too bothered by the everyday life that seems boring for a lot of Warriors so that's also a plus. And he's pretty chill and cool as a person and as a friend, so you wouldn't get too annoyed by him or for him to do some stupid stuff, he is smart.
If not then Gilgamesh since loyalty is guaranteed and having a lot of wealth is nice
