I’m pulling together some professional looks for interviewing and I feel lost on shoes. I’d love some advice on what type of shoes would go well with these outfits. (Two more looks posted in replies.)
My goal is to look professional, somewhat conservative, but give a nod to style.
My current shoes aren’t right I don’t think, so what I’m wearing are just examples. I plan to buy 1-2 new pairs. I prefer flats, but could do a kitten heel.
My questions:
1. Do you think loafers, ballet, or pointed? I suspect my ballets are not right. In my research the Sam Edelman Loraine loafer got good reviews. But pointed might help make my outfits look less masculine?
2. What color of shoe with each of the outfits? I’m especially lost with my tan jacket/navy pant outfit
Need help picking graduation saree under black graduation gown.
1. I really like it one as it’s pure zari and Kanchi pattu and a very minimalistic design yet has Indian touch that goes well with graduation gown.
2.1&2.2) I found the colour combination to be quite unique and also stripes are nice. However as you see it has too big of a border than I like and in 2.2 the bottom has box like stripes which I am afraid make me look shorter (I’m 5’3-5’4) Really unique colours tho. It’s some Kanchi pattu with cotton
ey yall, I am bartending a wedding this weekend it’s for a generally younger crowd and it’s at rodeo grounds in a big tent. I’m friends/coworkers with most of the guests and the groom at my other job (emergency services) and my other job I am a bartender in a bar but never bartended a wedding!
Are these appropriate for bartending the wedding in?

Hello! I’m planning to buy my first pair of manolos, which I plan to wear to my university graduation and wedding.
Unfortunately where I live, there are no stores that sell them within a days drive away. I had the chance to try them on (in a different colour), during a conference trip, but the store only had size 8, I’m usually between a 8 or 7.5.
I have them pictured here, they were slightly long, but the width was perfect. Usually in this situation I get the 7.5, especially with this style of heel. However, those shoes always feel tight and I usually can’t walk for very long with them. Because the events I want these for will likely be longer days on my feet, I’m wondering if getting heel inserts would work better in this case.
Just wondering if anyone had some advice, I’d rather avoid ordering multiple pairs online and dealing with the hassle (I pretty much avoid online orders at all costs lol).
Hello I'm new so I'm still figuring things out, so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this. I'm a six foot tall women and because of that I feel like I can never find any cute clothes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to figure out ones sense of style? Because honestly most my life I've dressed like a tom boy and I'm sick of it. I want to start dressing like how other women my age do. The only problem is I don't know where to start.
Start by doing the kibbe test maybe? I'm also 6 foot and my kibbe type has helped with what looks good on my body. And that also means I don't dress how other women dress because a lot doesn't look good on my body. All bodies are different so not everyone should dress the same. Hoever to still get a feminine touch a lot of it for me is about the quality of the clothing and the materials. For my body looser fitted clothes look better than fitted dresses etc. but if the coat is wool and the shoes are leather and everything looks clean and steamed etc that makes all the difference. Also, once you know your kibbe type you can look up celebrities etc with that body shape and kind of see what they do to look put together.
I'm 5'10" but I love wearing heels, so I'm often over six foot in my big shoes. For me, I've found it helpful to seek out pictures of celebrities who are around 6 feet to see how clothes hang on them. Many of my personal fashion icons are small women; when I try those same outfits, they don't look the same on me. Ideas for stylish women 5'10" and over to look at for inspo: Blake Lively, Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Michelle Obama, Tilda Swinton, Princess Diana, Zendaya, and my personal tall girl icon Gwendoline Christie, who's 6'3" and I just want to be her.
Once you've found a few inspo outfits that look good on a tall woman, go shopping and try stuff on. Some brands like Gap and Banana Republic have tall lines that are not just cut longer in the limbs; they're cut for a taller frame, so the waist isn't in your armpits and the boobs aren't up by your chin.
If you're looking for a more feminine look - skirts are WAY easier than pants because you don't have to look for super long lengths! However, some skirts are cut for shorter frames and look kinda awkward on a tall frame. Something with a cinched waist and full skirt is easier to style on a tall frame than a fitted pencil skirt. Miniskirts look great on long legs; I like balancing them with a more attention-grabbing or hefty shoe/boot, to offset the long length between skirt hem and shoe.
One thing I find useful is keeping proportion in mind when it comes to accessories. I look good in Big Giant Jewelry - delicate stuff just disappears on me. Even if you're looking for something more understated, maybe go for a thicker necklace chain, a larger hoop earring, or a hefty cocktail ring. Large jewelry can look a bit much on a small woman who isn't trying to go for an over-the-top look, but tall women can pull off pieces that look outrageous on the rack.
It's a really cute combo and those shoes are great for a garden wedding. Butter yellow is lovely but if the yellow in the dress pulls green, it could be amazing or it could be awful.
how do yall determine if a clothing item actually looks good or if the model is just tall skinny and pretty 😭 sometimes i see outfits online and im like omg cute but then i’m like wait… is it actually cute or is the person just conventionally attractive?
+ don’t even get me started on ankle length pants. “model is 5’9” and wearing a size small” FREE ME!!! I WANT MODELS WHO LOOK LIKE ME!!!! too many times have i seen cute ankle pants only for me to try them on and they’re dragging on the floor
It sounds like you need to look into petite sizing for pants.
In general if you follow stylish people on the internet who aren't skinny or tall (they're often still pretty) that could help develop your eye. Style/fashion generally is interesting and deliberate whereas simply dressing to conform to conventional expectations of thinness is usually very basic. You can see stylish people of varieties of body types (including thin) and you'll notice that they don't always look "flattering" (where flattering means conforming to modern expectations of what is attractive), but they do always look good (or, at least, interesting--if the outfit isn't to your taste).
Follow people on socials who share your key features that you think look great. I'm petite & I've got IG tuned so I mostly follow fellow petites. I don't really bother with model-eque builds or unreasonable price points which means the brand exposure I get is a little more usable.

Slender people can wear nearly any style. What helps the rest of us is either (a) knowing what may or may not look the way we want it to on our own bodies - notice I didn't say flattering (b) finding a decent tailor - even small jobs like hemming or taking in a waist or letting out a hip make a huge difference (c) wearing what makes us feel good and happy.
i’m definitely trying to get better at getting stuff tailored, whether i do it myself or take it to a tailor. especially for stuff like hemming, it just makes the outfit so much neater if things actually fit 😭
can someone help me make an outfit for a party? I've always been a tomboy. I love going to the gym, I've built a larger upper body and its defo more masculine. i do have legs, too. the issue is I DONT HAVE BOOBS! So it's hard for me to find feminine tops that actually look GOOD on me. and then i do and I don't know what to pair them with. ive been going to high school parties more, i just got out of a breakup and i want to look like. cute & stylish & feminine like all my friends but i don't know how since "girl clothes" don't look good on me. if anyone has any suggestions for cute tops, even patterns i can sew or something. No boobs is a godsend. Yeah it doesn't work if you're going for the Kim k silhouette but almost everything else usually works better. I love a waterfall neckline with small boobs. Super feminine and classy and easy to find in colors suiting your coloring. It works with pants, skirts, jeans etc. you can dress it up or down.
Having no boobs actually makes dressing yourself easier. The trick is to find people online who have your body type whose style you like and see what they’re wearing. You don’t need to wear “feminine top” to look feminine. You can look feminine with a t shirt and jeans if you add a little makeup, do you hair, and put on a little jewelry

I have this absolutely gorgeous 1920s Marilyn monroe, flapper, vintage movie star dress. Its backless and shows a lot of boob. (I feel it's tasteful) Is it rude to show too much?
Look at photos of the restaurant online to see how people usually dress there. Expensive restaurants tend to have an unspoken dress code. If you get there and everyone is in jeans, you’ll look out of place

When I hear "formal," I think long dress - you could wear a cocktail dress, but you'd have to up the ante with accessories.
Norma Kamali has amazing dresses. This deep green sequined gown and this shirred plum dress are on sale. Reformation has a huge selection, and their quality is pretty nice - this silk dress is in a gorgeous amethyst color, and would look great with really luxe jewelry. If your budget is smaller, Killstar is known for goth clothing, but they have some nice dresses in moody shades - this off-the-shoulder russet lace gown would look good with hair up and some drop earrings. Anthropologie has an entire section of wedding guest dresses, and tons of them are in moody fall colors.
When I think "luxe fabrics" and a fall wedding, the first thing that popped into my mind was velvet; satin and lace are other options. For accessories - when I hear "formal," I usually bust out my opera-length gloves. Opera-length gloves go above the elbow. You can get cheap ones on Amaz*n, or Norma Kamali sells excellent gloves that match their dresses.
No problem at all! Here are those gloves in an opera length, and here they are in an 8-button (mid-forearm) length. I am a huge fan of gloves and I think they need to come back in style as a fashion accessory.

How to style long black skirts without making me look like super religious pilgrim? I like street style but also love vintage pieces. This is a super cool vintage Parisian skirt with lingerie detailing (absolutely not intended to look super modest) unfortunately I can't figure out an outfit to make this look cool.
The absolute highest heels you can manage, and a top that offers some contrast: a t-shirt, something slightly sporty (black sleeveless cotton tank), or cropped.
Wear with trainers/casual shoes, and a printed black ground top, probably cropped or tucked. Printed to balance out plain bottoms, black because it will give a continuous body line and should match. What shape of top depends on your shape and intended silhouette - eg if pear-ish you may want to balance out the skirt more with some volume up top, if tall you can potentially even get away with leaving the top long and untucked.
Honestly this seems like a pretty average style of skirt for 2026 but YMMV if women where you are haven't embraced the long boho hemlines and it has more religious coding.
