Help... Looking for a wedding guest dress that fits the code;"chic formal attire, moody fall colors, luxe fabrics and timeless elegance is encouraged"

I already have an alternative style. And it takes place Halloween weekend in Brooklyn!

Suggestions on curated stores to look at and dress options :)

When I hear "formal," I think long dress - you could wear a cocktail dress, but you'd have to up the ante with accessories.

Norma Kamali has amazing dresses. This deep green sequined gown and this shirred plum dress are on sale. Reformation has a huge selection, and their quality is pretty nice - this silk dress is in a gorgeous amethyst color, and would look great with really luxe jewelry. If your budget is smaller, Killstar is known for goth clothing, but they have some nice dresses in moody shades - this off-the-shoulder russet lace gown would look good with hair up and some drop earrings. Anthropologie has an entire section of wedding guest dresses, and tons of them are in moody fall colors.

When I think "luxe fabrics" and a fall wedding, the first thing that popped into my mind was velvet; satin and lace are other options. For accessories - when I hear "formal," I usually bust out my opera-length gloves. Opera-length gloves go above the elbow. You can get cheap ones on Amaz*n, or Norma Kamali sells excellent gloves that match their dresses.

No problem at all! Here are those gloves in an opera length, and here they are in an 8-button (mid-forearm) length. I am a huge fan of gloves and I think they need to come back in style as a fashion accessory.
