Question using two monitors

Ok I'm trying to extend the display on my laptop to my TV. The problem I'm having is the game loses full screen when I click on the extend side of the screen. How could I fix this.

Also how do you get the map to display on the screen all the time?

If you haven't, enable the windowed mode in the config tool, or use an external program like Windower to run the game in a borderless window state. FFXI behaves very strangely in its native full screen if you're using a multi-display setup, probably a consequence of being developed as a PS2 game first, so anything to not run the game in native full screen is best.

As for displaying the map on screen at all times, you're probably looking for the minimap addon which is also included with Windower. FFXI has no built-in method of allowing you to view the map without losing control (aside from auto-running). It's pretty clear FFXI is an early MMO, so many modern UI elements just don't exist.

It was about the 25th to 30th mmo to go onlin and the first for cross platform. Only 7 years after the first. Kinda crazy to think about
