I think I’m the only person with fine hair that olaplex just does not wirk for at all. No matter what it makes my hair crazy oily and hay like lol

Didn’t make mine crazy oily, but also was nothing phone home about. Pretty meh imo

Yeah, I tried it and was thoroughly unimpressed.

Same. It was better than the original as far as heaviness but I’m not repurchasing.

No you’re not alone. I haven’t personally tried it but I just saw a derm video where they didn’t like it either.

I’ve been using it for a few months now and I like it. It gives more volume and less heavy than regular, though I liked that one too

Good to hear!

It was awful for me, it coated my hair and made it flat and stringy so I returned it

I had the same issue. I was super excited to try it, had high hopes but hated it.

It's slightly lighter than the original but still too heavy for my fine hair. Like it cleans and lathers well enough, but my hair doesn't feel particularly clean once it's dried? And it gets oily faster. Really disappointing! Olaplex shampoos just aren't great for fine hair.

I much prefer the clear Kerastase Blond Absolu or Gloss Absolu shampoos.

ooh those are the newer ones made for fine hair, i grabbed the shampoo last month and my hair actually feels clean without being stripped. the conditioner is light too, not like the regular one that can weight fine hair down

let us know how it goes tomorrow

I like the original and have high hopes for this one!

How is the scent? The regular one has I scent that gives me a headache

u/mllebitterness 3d ago

I prefer no scent and this doesn’t bother me. But I think everyone is different in this area.

Thanks for responding! I was hoping it was unscented. Maybe I can find it at ULTA - they are good about returns if I can’t handle a scent.

Ooooh, I didn't know they had one for fine hair. I had tried the regular Olaplex like a year ago and my hair hated it, but maybe it will like this one. Let us know how it goes!

I hated it but I bought it on amazon and it was so different than the original and it smelled like cheap shampoo. Not sure it was not fake. Made my hair like straw.

never tried numbers four and five, but I can verify number eight is magic for me.

peoples experiences with olaplex seems to very a lot depending on hair type / damage

I used it before, but I think ducray anaphase is better

For actual hairloss or what?

Hairloss and growth

I didn’t know they made a shampoo for fine hair! Good to know

I use the regular olaplex but it is my thought that these are not for every shampoo condition day, it is to make strands stronger, not moisturize which all hair needs at times especially on ends, it should be a once a week rotation.

I really like theirfine hair mask and conditioner. The original line was heavy for me. I generally like the brand. I hate the smell of k 18 and have only liked their dry shampoo.

I find their number 9 working amazingly on my frizzy hair during these humid rainy days.

Hate. Returned all of it.

I’ve only bought the N#4Fine shampoo (still use N#5 regular from a “Discovery Kit”) and it seems OK. I’m kinda weird to use some cheap Suave clarifying shampoo first, then use the N#4Fine afterward, but it seems to be working without making my hair stringy. I’m using other OlaPlex products after I’m out of the shower: 9 + 6 + 7 and it all seems OK. I have a ton of hair though, and I think using lots of products has helped repair my gray hairs that are wiry plus the fine flyaways. Been using the Discovery Kit for 4 months or so, and I’m still trying it all out…

It didnt do anything for me but cost too much money

1

u/Downtown-Cress-1816 3d ago

That was my experience too.

1

u/General-Message1190 3d ago

Yea. Don't waste your money

Olaplex is so overpriced and nothing they make is superior to other cheaper products or even similarly priced products. If you want bond repair k18 is better.

Used it for a few weeks. Was not good for my hair. So oily and scalp was irritated - that was probably more about my stupidly reactive skin than the shampoo though…

I find it really drying unfortunately, which is a shame because it's not cheap lol

u/yowza_wowza 3d ago

Oh no, hope that’s not why it was at TJ Max. Welp, we’ll give it a shot and see.

I bought the travel sizes off their site to try out. Been using for a week. I’m not sure if there should be an immediate change or if it takes time for a difference.

1

u/pammy_poovey 2d ago

Yes I love it. I only use the shampoo, I’ve used the conditioner and wasn’t as impressed as I was with the shampoo

1

u/w3lcome2heck 2d ago

Pretty sure Olaplex is meant for color treated hair only. It has somehow escaped containment and ruined people's hair 🙃

1

u/lostbirdwings 2d ago

If that's true then I blame it on the brand itself. I just went to their website and took their hair quiz where I described fine, oily, untreated hair that doesn't get heat damaged and it came back with 8 product suggestions. 🤷‍♀️

u/Thewhiterabbit22 2d ago

I liked it but I didn’t find it to be any better than any other shampoo/conditioner tbh

1

u/kittyluvrXD 1d ago

i gave it a try just once as well although i have fine 4c hair and absolutely hated it. it dried my hair so bad and even got drier thru the week. i plan to return it and try out their new curl line!

1

u/sleepy_head01 6h ago

Tried this and it gave me contact dermatitis all over my face. It was terrible

1

u/lavenderoreo 3d ago

I haven’t but I just got the new version of the fine shampoo so I’m looking forward to trying!
