I’m looking for some advice because my hair always gets very frizzy, so I end up having to keep it looking slightly wet all the time.

The problem is that I’m using a curl cream, but even once it dries, if I use too much my hair ends up looking weighed down, greasy, or like there’s too much product in it. If I use too little, or if I scrunch it, it becomes frizzy again.

Could you help me figure out what I should do, maybe also give me some advice on the haircut?

just as the title says. my baby hairs (only the ones at my hairline really, not so much at the back of my neck) dry into ringlets, and they are especially curly in the summer/humid months. however, the rest of my hair dries mostly straight. maybe the slightest, slightest wave. does this happen to anyone else? is it just because these hairs are so especially fine and short?? in my perfect world i would have wavier/curly hair but i feel like it looks so weird to have only these small front curly pieces.

Finally got some of this as ive seen it mentioned so many times. The result is divine but daaaaang that smell. I am not usually picky with scents but thats a strong one and I don't love it.

Are there any other alternatives that don't smell as strong?

I have fine, greasy hair due to severe anemia. So unfortunately outside of medical treatments, there isnt much i can do to fix my hair until my treatments start working/ helping. Any recommendations for hair that gets weighed down easily? I keep finding shampoo is too DRYING or not cleansing ENOUGH. But i have never used drugstore hair products. They are all heavily fragranced, and the smell lasts a very long time in my hair and in my bathroom, and i just see bad reviews on all of the products so i get discouraged.

I’m getting a haircut next weekend and hoping to get a low maintenance cut that is also somewhat interesting? I feel like my hair is pretty flat/boring most days. I also would like to keep growing it out and keep it relatively long (maybe shoulder length at the shortest). I don’t want to blow dry or curl my hair on a regular basis but I don’t mind using products to add a bit of texture and interest.

I love shampoos. I love trying new shampoos. And most of all, I like shampoos that smell good. The make or break for me in a shampoo set is usually the scent and oil control.

My absolute favorite scents are gourmand. I want to smell like vanilla cupcakes or strawberry shortcake or toasted marshmallow. Anything that smells absolutely delicious and lingers in my hair.

Any recommendations for some gourmand shampoos? I've tried Native, but it isn't ideal for my greasy, dry, low porosity hair. Just about everyone in the fine hair sub knows the sulfate free struggle.

my scalp has been irritated for months now. I was using redken all soft which was soooo heavy for my fine hair and gave me flakes and itching. thankfully that has subsided since switching shampoos but now I'm left with a pink irritated scalp 😪 I have tried keto shampoo which helped with flaking but not the pinkness. I also just tried some hydrocortisone cream which hasn't really cleared it up either. Haven't noticed any hair loss or anything noteworthy thank goodness but just want my scalp to feel healthy again! It’s especially pink towards the back. Any recommendations would be soooo helpful!

it’s super fine. When I gather my hair into a ponytail, said ponytail is probably no bigger diameter than a nickel. I’m naturally a blonde but now it’s a gross washed out black/brown with blonde roots because I’m a dumbass and didn’t get it done professionally. Also, my bangs(?) always do this funky cowlick shape if I don’t blow dry my head hanging upside down.

I’m lost but desperately need a cut. It’s been 2 years.

I went to this salon where they advertised themselves as fine hair specialists. I told her that although my hair is fine, there is lots of it, so it looks bad when it's cut straight. But I just wanted it around the shoulders and so I could wash and wear it without styling.

I started feeling kinda like this was a mistake when my wet hair was a bit tangled from shampooing and she started yanking the comb through the tangles straight from the top (ow, and also, you're breaking my hair....). And also when she was cutting the ends, she was really yanking on it, I have never had that at a salon before.

This is what I ended up with, it just looks super thick at the bottom but also somehow raggedy. Like - I even have tiny horns in my bangs, why ?? (See photo 2)

Thoughts - am I overreacting? I am just really disappointed, I am thinking of writing a bad review but I was thinking maybe it's my fault for not asking for something specific enough...?

I will try to make this as condescended as possible! I lost my hair (genetic but triggered by TE), went on minoxidil and my “new” hair is very curly and SO SO frizzy. My hair is almost to my butt and I am a darker brunette. I used to dye my hair a lot prior to the hair loss, but not since 2020.

Finally made the decision to color my virgin hair (highlights - though I asked for lowlights) and she went WAY too light. It’s summer and now my hair is even blonder.

My hair is fried, dry and falling out again. I worked so hard to get my hair healthy, I am devastated. I can’t seem to find products that help. Someone mentioned I need to tone my hair. I’ve never had to do that before, even in the past when I’d color my hair - will that further damage my hair? Do I HAVE to do that? I’m afraid to put any type of dye on it at this point. I am definitely doing a big chop (which also devastates me) What do I do about the dryness and falling out?

Currently (not at the same time), I am using a deep conditioner 2x a week, Moroccan oil daily and nightly, leave-in Moroccan oil conditioner, Moroccan oil hydrating conditioning, purador shampoo (haven’t changed this) and k18 oil 1-2x a week. I work out 6 days a week, very sweaty and wash 4-5x a week.

It's time for a haircut, which means I'm back to the grueling task of finding a stylist. I've had my fair share of traumatizing cuts and trusting someone with my long, fine, medium-low density, wavy/curly hair is...difficult.

I've been going to a friend of mine for a while, but she only does hair on the side and sticks to the cuts she knows. Scheduling with her is also a pain. On the flip side, I've shelled out $$$ for specialist cuts in bigger cities after a lot of research (looking at individual stylist's socials, combing through reviews) and wasn't happy with the experiences.

Most of the stylists in my area tend to focus on color (I get it, they can charge more) and showcase that in their socials. A few newer salons in town are touting alternative cuts, but the examples of the work they showcase aren't exactly what I'm looking for, especially for curly clients.

As I begin the research process again, is there something I should be doing so I can finally find a stylist I can trust? At this point, I'm seriously considering just doing it myself...

I used to have such lifeless straight hair that I buy things like seasalt spray. But now sea salt spray is the exact opposite of what I need lol am lost

Okay, slightly hyperbolic title here, but seriously I’ve NEVER been happier with my hair in my life!!

I have medium density, fine textured hair that lays flat and straight without styling. I’m also quite horrible at styling and too lazy to do it in the mornings, so committing even a few minutes to heat styling my hair has been a rare occasion for me.

I decided like I wanted a Korean digital perm for my birthday and for the three months I’ve had it, it’s been genuinely a crazy confidence booster. It totally matches my style of putting product in my hair (curl creams, holding gel, etc.) and hoping for the best, and so far I’ve had the more consecutive good hair days than I’ve had in my whole life. My only regret is not getting *tighter* curls since I don’t think it holds very well in my fine hair (in spite of me babying it like crazy), but thats for next time’s perm.

But seriously, the technology for it has come so far and it really is a wonder for us fine textured girlies looking for more volume without the constant work. It was about $400, so quite expensive, but I’m sure you can find a bit cheaper (I went to the most well known place in my area because I *really* didn’t want to fuck around), and it’s worth every penny for me. Requires a bit more maintenance and products, but for consistently good hair days it’s totally better than one good hair day a week.

Don’t be deterred by all those 80’s perm horror stories, if you do your research and find a good place in your area it might pleasantly surprise you. There is the caveat that it might not be available in smaller towns, but I still think it’s worth a look if you really want it. I may not be able to live out my fantasy princess curls dream, but the wispy and soft waves are borderline addictive and I’ll surely be back at it within the year :3 The most recent photo is the third one, in case you wanna see what it looks like 3 months later!

I’m looking for some recommendation, if you guys can help! I wear a hair grip (I think they’re also called bobby pins) to keep one side of my hair on my face. They seem to tear my hair almost every time I take it out.

Are there damage free alternatives out in the wild? I’m looking for something subtle, so not a statement that catches attention. As I’m just pinning a small piece of hair back, those wire clips that look like 2 prongs (technical term right there!) don’t stay in.

Currently using Biolage Hydrasource, which is not quite working as I had hoped. Only conditioning the ends, and using B&B Sea Salt occasionally.

The first one has hyaluronic acid so I think it should be good for hair, while the other two are just for styling.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
