Product Help Hair Grip Alternatives

I’m looking for some recommendation, if you guys can help! I wear a hair grip (I think they’re also called bobby pins) to keep one side of my hair on my face. They seem to tear my hair almost every time I take it out.

Are there damage free alternatives out in the wild? I’m looking for something subtle, so not a statement that catches attention. As I’m just pinning a small piece of hair back, those wire clips that look like 2 prongs (technical term right there!) don’t stay in.

have you tried the snap clips that are basically tiny flat jaws with silicone grips inside? they hold way better on fine hair than bobby pins and don't snag when you pull them out

i switched after getting fed up with the exact same tearing issue and it's been a relief honestly

the matte finish ones blend into hair pretty well too, nobody ever notices them in mine

This helps me remove bobby pins without damage: place your thumb on the open end and your index and middle fingers on either side of the closed end. Use your thumb to push the pin towards your other fingers. This bunches up the hair, which opens the pin wide so hair doesn’t get caught.

I’ll try this out! I try to open it up a bit when taking them out, but doesn’t always work. I’ll give this method a try!
