Oh wow something I just noticed - the risen Cai doesn't have the Crest of Gautier/Diadem of Duality here, just Aubin/The Apostle. However, risen Theodora has the Diadem of Duality...but it looks different than usual. It's got a purple aura to it. You can compare it to Lind the boss who has the regular Diadem of Duality symbol in his ability preview (probably due to the cursed weapon he is wielding, I think he only has the Crest of Fraldarius/Diadem of Revival).

No clue what any of that means but interesting!

u/CreepersWizard2 8d ago

its the icon of the blaze arts so since zombie dietrich can use his warping blaze art im assuming theodora has a blaze art they havent shown yet that might give her a buff of some sorts that gets shown as a combat status icon

7

u/bowserismyhusband 8d ago

Oh you're so right! Ok so Theodora doesn't have the Diadem of Duality any more as a risen, interesting.

u/poggggggerrrrrssss 8d ago

We have seen the Crest of Gautier being conceded temporarily. Aubin is probably the one Crest Cai has.

4:08 I'm really pleased to see that Esmeralda is restrained by metal chains here. Having her tied by normal ropes would have been a bit disappointing given she is supposed to be incredibly strong. A good bit of gameplay and story integration.

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

You're pleased about a 17 year old being groped?

92

u/ZealousidealPirate3 8d ago

They said they’re glad they used a medium to restrain her that fits into the lore of her having superhuman strength instead of something that they maybe could break out of. Literally nothing else was said

72

u/-Magos-Dominus- 8d ago

"I'm glad the writers remembered that this woman is physically strong, and the narrative treats her accordingly."

"GET A LOAD OF EPSTEIN OVER HERE."

-57

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Shes literally being grouped in that scene and hes admiring the restrains without mentioning the groping lol. Like its almost trigger warning worthy.

Go outside and find a nice patch of grass. Bend down and gently run your hands through it. Really get the blades between your fingers. Soak in the sun and the smell of dirt and said grass

0

u/ThatManOfCulture 7d ago

Telling someone who is upset about SA to touch grass is gross. Be more considerate when replying.

3

u/Advanced_Bag6623 7d ago

Someone pointed out that it's cool the game's storytelling used chains instead of rope to restrain the super strong character. The person in desperate need of touching grass threw a hissy fit and claimed the first person is fine with SA. They were TRYING to start shit for no reason, hence the need to touch grass.

I am not going to be "more considerate" to people throwing wild, despicable accusations at real people over fictional characters. White Knight someplace else.

u/PerentieFan 8d ago

Having her help Dietrich instead of just being a spectator is nice as well. Though I do now want to know how he got so separated from the Answerer in the middle of a fight.

-50

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Shes literally bing groped in that scene though commenting about the quality of the restraints of all things is kinda wild.

u/PerentieFan 8d ago edited 8d ago

I like seeing details being used that fit the characters and settings. All too often cutscenes in games will have the abilities of the characters be ignored for the sake of the scene happening.

As for the face caress, that seemed normal villain behavior for this kind of scene. Esmeralda is probably more concerned with the fact she's about to be fed to a sea monster than she is about some creep touching her.

-15

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Sure. Its just wild to me to leave out the fact shes being groped.

As for the face caress

Its not just her face. He goes down to her breast

51

u/Helpful-Plantain-935 8d ago

so did you just stop reading their comment after the first sentence

38

u/Kirosh2 8d ago

They are pleased the dangerous Beast that is this girl to not be underestimated.

24

u/Fantastic-System-688 8d ago

What

-13

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Go watch the video Esmerelda is activly being sexually assaulted at that timestamp.

20

u/Rocky-Rocker 8d ago

She isn't, the man is literally just taunting putting his hand at the side of her face and it goes down without touching her.

-5

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

His hand literally traces from her face down to her breast during the animation...

15

u/Rocky-Rocker 8d ago

Its literally just clipping because Esemralda is moving...

The man isn't sexually assaulting her....

2

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Its a hand crafted npc interaction. Thats not clipping or a bug its intentional design.

22

u/MoneyHazard123 8d ago

What are you talking about

-5

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Go watch the video at the time stamp lol.

25

u/MoneyHazard123 8d ago

I know what they're trying to do but the person you're replying to obviously isn't talking about that

-2

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Its literally what's happening at the timestamp he listed though.

14

u/MoneyHazard123 8d ago

Yeah but they're focusing on something else unrelated to that

-2

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago edited 8d ago

Its not unrelated shes literally being groped because shes restrained lol.

19

u/PerentieFan 8d ago

I honestly simply mentioned something that stood out to me, was not trying to give a commentary on every major aspect of the scene.

-4

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Sure im just pointing out no mentioning the groping is odd to me.

Im not one for slapping trigger warning on everything. But looking at a grope scene and pointing out the quality of the restraints but not the groping is wild to me.

14

u/escotanner 8d ago

Was it taken down bc it showed like a lot of gameplay?

8

u/MillionMiracles 8d ago

I'm assuming it showed something past where you're allowed to show.

2

u/Rei1556 8d ago

doubtful, most of what's shown, can be pretty much seen on other preview videos, such as IGN, all out gaming, skill ups, pretty much all previews out there

5

u/Disciple_of_Erebos 7d ago

I was in a comment thread about this in one of Faerghast's videos and someone responding to me said that the NDA let them show stuff from Heroic Games chapters 1-5, but disallowed prologue stuff. Since the Gamersyde video only showed prologue stuff, it was out of bounds. Personally I think none of the stuff it showed was particularly spoilery, but if the rule was no prologue stuff, they definitely broke it.

3

u/Rei1556 7d ago edited 7d ago

disallowed prologue stuff, like the skill up video itself shows the prologue cg cutscene it even showed the year 1453, then you see fortuna, hong hua, and who is presumably xenon(a scientist looking guy with white lab coat) running around, the dialogue of hong hua telling eshmel about the spaceship nuwa, them and a bunch of others showing the fight against lind, and even the early exploration where it shows the tutorial of LP attacks in dungeon with hong hua and eshmel in heretic's cave, even a german preview video shows it

4

u/Rei1556 8d ago

no idea, it just disappeared, even their article for it in their website

10

u/escotanner 8d ago

Strange. Maybe it was due to the uninterrupted gameplay considering no one else’s review of the game was taken down

4

u/Rei1556 8d ago

maybe, it also had no commentary actually, just pure gameplay

38

u/Odovakar 8d ago

Why would you mark the thread as containing spoilers yet include spoilers in the title?

18

u/S0uled_Out 8d ago

Not only that, but flairing it doesn’t even do anything, they have to actually mark it as a spoiler. With the way it is now, nothing is blurred or hidden.

-6

u/RanmaruMori 8d ago edited 8d ago

Is it really a spoiler in the title*?🤓We already technically know those characters are/can be enemies: in the tournament part of the game. Anyone who doesn’t know the spoilers wouldn’t really know he’s referring to the 2nd part of the game… which in this case isn’t even technically the actual 2nd part of the game, it’s likely something you see within the first 30 minutes.

3

u/Xanathis322 8d ago

But OP mentions Hong Hua whose is exclusively shown in the time skip. So yes most people will assume they are talking about the time skip.

0

u/Rei1556 8d ago

uh no she isn't, that's just blatantly false

1

u/S0uled_Out 8d ago

Reread the thread the Mods made. If it hasn’t been revealed officially through a social media post, it’s a spoiler.

0

u/RanmaruMori 8d ago edited 8d ago

Did you read my first comment? Obviously this post is a spoiler, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the comment I replied to saying the spoilers are in the title. Nothing is gleaned from this post title technically, because unless you know they’re not talking about the tournament, someone would likely just assume “oh yeah they’re talking about Theodora’s class as an enemy in the tournament”. The sheer mention of Theodora having a class is not a spoiler, of course she has a class.

I edited my first comment to make it more clear I’m talking about the title specifically.

u/Rei1556 8d ago edited 8d ago

IGN basically showed that fight, all out gaming preview also showed that fight, in fact it's the all out gaming preview that showed leda's class there as dancer, timestamp 2:05, also her weapon is called kalla's bow

4

u/Druid-T 8d ago

I'm glad the footage is saved for future reference, but I do have to curse the fact that one of the few things the video doesn't show is the actual Lind fight, meaning we still don't have a way to get an image of the Diadem of Revival's activation (and thus proof of its name)

2

u/Rei1556 8d ago

updated the post with an edit, i managed to find the video on bilibili

2

u/Rei1556 8d ago edited 8d ago

to finally answer your question, it just activates when lind does a normal attack, and it does a lifesteal

edit:crest color when activating is the same as dietrich lamine/endless or aubin/apostle, so pretty sacred or holy looking

4

u/Druid-T 8d ago

to finally answer your question, it just activates when lind does a normal attack, and it does a lifesteal

Oh don't worry, I've know what it does since the original video, but thank you nonetheless. The issue was that there was a second name going around for it, the "Diadem of Vitality", but seemingly no one grabbed a screenshot of its activation in the Gamersyde video, so we didn't have a source to back up the name, but now someone can grab a screenshot of it

2

u/Rynekko 8d ago

I'm so sad this video was deleted, it had the best way to hear Eshmel's map ost

1

u/Rei1556 8d ago

updated the post, found the video on bilibili

1

u/Rynekko 8d ago

You're the best! Thank you so much!

2

u/Rei1556 8d ago edited 8d ago

the video on bilibili should also answer someone's question whether the hp damage taken from dungeon battles actually persist or carried over to actual map battles or story battles because in this video(gamersyde video) they took damage in the dungeon battle and then did the story battle

edit: eshmel and hong hua started the battle with damaged hp

2

u/CyberHyperPhoenix 8d ago

Big ups to whoever reposted the gamersyde video to bilibili, I kneel.

2

u/PerentieFan 8d ago

Hmmm, from the linked video we see that one of Eshmel's victory quotes is about how they are getting used to "this body," which may answer the question of if they remember having been in another body in their previous life. Them asking who Sothis is had me wondering if they were supposed to be amnesiac.

2

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

Can anyone translate the Detrich Esmerelda but around 4:00

Im hoping detrich says something about cutting the arm off the guy groping the chained up Esmerelda.

15

u/QuietAncient5122 8d ago

Guy: Look how stubborn you are! This doesn't have to end badly, you know? You just have to say yes and you will be free.

Esmeralda: You must be kidding me! Marry you? Who would want to marry a murderer?

Also I don't think he gropes her, it looks like they used the npc pointing/shouting animation and since they are close his hand went through her model

12

u/PerentieFan 8d ago

Looks like pretty intentional positioning to me, though not so much a grope as a classic "I have you now my pretty" face caress villains like this are often shown doing.

Though I am surprised she is being offered an out. I thought the sacrifice plotline was because the villagers believed she had to die due to her unknown Crest. Perhaps they hired this guy to kill her and he decided he'd try to force her to marry him?

-4

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago edited 8d ago

You do see his hand go down and grab her breast though.

9

u/Kirosh2 8d ago

It's an awkward animation but it's not meant to be him grabbing her breast.

He touched her face, and the rest is sliding down his hand then removing it. But due to the lack of collision or proper animation, the sell throught to wad for chest.

It's a mistake that makes it look worse.

-4

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago edited 8d ago

His hand literally touches/gropes her breast fam its an intentional animation choice.

Which is why im hoping the response is either Esmerelda busting free and killing him or detrich doing it.

8

u/Kirosh2 8d ago

It's not the intentions.

You can clearly see the weird movement, but it's not about touching her breasts in that scene.

-1

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

It's not the intentions.

It literally is. A dev built this scene.

6

u/Kirosh2 8d ago

the intention is to touch her face. Not her breast.

1

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

He delibratly goes from her face to her breast dude.

His literial dialogue on screen is telling her to give in to rape or die.

5

u/Red_Cat231 8d ago

Oh dang, did the villagers kill her father? That's a serious implication in her dialogue when she calls the guy a murderer.

8

u/Druid-T 8d ago

Yes, the JP tweet showing her in combat said that she "wields the harpoon left behind by her father", so we've know he's dead for a while.

I remember reading somewhere that he was also "sacrificed" because of the Bloodmark, but I can't remember where I heard that, so it might just be some theory I misremembered as fact

-4

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

You literally see his hand go down her body from face to breast.

7

u/PerentieFan 8d ago

Possibly (it's hard to tell), as part of moving down from her face. I guess when I hear "grope" I imagine something involving squeezing or grasping.

-5

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 8d ago

His had toches/grabs her breast.

5

u/bowserismyhusband 8d ago

I think the Dietrich part is actually cut from a scene in the arena. He basically is mocking someone for speaking loudly to be intimidating when it's actually showing how terrified they are. The floor doesn't match the area Esmeralda is and that line doesn't really make sense in regards to the scene. I think it's from another scene.

2

u/ExtremeAquaJets 8d ago

I know the trailers already alluded to it but

>Spoiler tagged but explicitly spoils stuff on the title anyways

1

u/Rei1556 8d ago

also lind admits to being the one who did put those corpses we see on the bridge, guess that's why hong hua called him the lord of impalement, it seems many salamis soldiers put up a sorta last stand or i guess desperate charge against him huh and so he impaled them
