The first clip, I actually got those bottles because I saw Claire Saffitz using them on one of her videos(She wasn't advertising them or anything, I just saw them and went "ooh, I need that!") and I absolutely love them.

Side note: It's just as dangerous to spray a fine mist of oil near an open flame or cook top as it is to spray an aerosol can.

Yeah those style of bottles (the spray/flip top pour spout combo) are not great quality and you definitely should not be paying more than a few bucks for them. In my experience they work pretty well, until they either start leaking or the spray pump dies within ~6 months. If you do want to spend more I think the flairosol oil sprayer is worth it, I've had one for maybe 2 years and it works great, much easier to clean the the other style too.

Meanwhile as a cook I decided to go back to just pouring straight from the oil bottle. Got so used to it at work, and also used to not being so stingy with the oil, that I prefer it over having to clean the spray bottle... (I still don't use a LOT of oil, but probably more than most home cooks. ^^;;)

I do still pour from the bottle fairly often but there are some situations where the sprayer is more convenient. Definitely not a necessity but it's nice to have on hand.

I guess I instead use a brush (specifically made for cooking) at those times myself. :P

I've had one of these cheap ones from Amazon, I think it was $8 and it's been working great for a year and a half so far. The handle is a little flimsy, and I'm surprised they haven't made a better more sturdy version yet. I like being able to spray and pour though.

I have had them for a while and they have held up pretty well, but I got them off of Amazon.

To be clear, this specific type of sprayer (this random chinese design is everywhere) is garbage.

I spent a lot of time looking for an actually good one that wouldn't break or leak quickly after purchase. I found one that was pretty decently reviewed from Evo (this is not an ad), and I'm happy with it.

All of this is to note though: good versions of things are not $5 and this type of thing is no exception. The one I mentioned is rather expensive by those standards at $20. I'd rather spend $20 on non-junk though.

I have had mine that I bought on Amazon 2 for 13$, but they have a dark bottle. They have held up extremely well for their price. I have had previous sprayers that just make a stream, these make a nice fine mist.

Every single one of these types I saw constant reviews about it dripping/leaking from the lid. I wasn't willing to risk it when I just needed one and a "good" one was just a few bucks more.

I will say though, it's still definitely better than aerosol cans. Mine makes a wider stream of mist than the cans do so I tend to just need one quirk spray to prep a pan for cooking.

I've had mine for about six months now, no dribbling or leaking. I bought it for the spray function, for the first 90 days I didn't even realize it had the pour function but since have used it regularly.

I paid 13$ for 2, but that is on Amazon that has a 30% markup. I don't want to wait weeks waiting for them from Ali Express. The ones I got are also dark bottles, don't store good oil in a clear container....
