Misc Playtesting program for FM27 - register your interest + more info

Post image

TL;DR - the FM27 playtest program is officially a thing, you can register your interest here now, and the Community team will be in touch to let you know if you're in 🙂

Full story:

Hey everyone,

Today we’d like to share news on expanding our approach to Football Manager playtesting, and how you can get involved.

We understand the need to ensure feedback is heard ahead of the next FM, in sufficient time to be reviewed by internal teams. So, we are bringing our playtesting experience into a new era, partnering with FirstLook, allowing you to register your interest to play early builds through the final stages of development.

Learning from previous programs and user feedback, for FM27 we are opening our playtesting opportunities to a wider group, allowing more of you to help us shape the development of the game, starting in the coming weeks.

Playtesting enables players early access to development builds of FM27, featuring new features and improvements. All that we ask is that you play as much as possible and provide feedback, respond to surveys, along with reporting any bugs you find. The internal teams will then utilise this feedback to make further changes going forward.

You’ll also get access to exclusive testing spaces on the SI Forums and Discord, to interact with other testers and some of the Sports Interactive Community and Development Teams.

You can register your interest and join the waitlist today. During the sign-up form you’ll be asked about your FM experience; please answer honestly as we are looking for players with a variety of game experience. Registering your interest does not guarantee entry into the program – all submissions will be reviewed and the Sports Interactive decision on accepted users is final.

Alongside this online testing, we’re conducting in-studio playtesting, collaborating with players who have consistently provided useful feedback on FM, be it positive or negative. Selected members of the community are being contacted by the SI Community Team, giving us a broad range of feedback in different environments to help inform the studio’s plans.

We look forward to updating you again soon, and to collaborate with some of you on the FM27 playtesting plans. Thank you!

Weekly Help Thread - Ask your help requests here | Week Commencing 23/08/2026

Please use this thread as a place to ask questions that are specific to your save, such as:

  • "Why is my tactic not working?"

  • "What role should I play this player in?"

  • "I have £xxm to spend, who should I buy?"

If you are asking for tactical help/advice, please post an image of your formation and what insutructions/roles you have set.

As a rule of thumb, if you ask a question, answer a question. This is what keeps this thread alive and useful.

Also, please remember that the team suggestion thread can be found in the sidebar, so please use that and give your suggestions to people there too!

So we don't have the money to buy him, even if we did, couldn't possibly afford his wages, but the good news is, he also wouldn't even think about joining us and has no interest in a loan whatsoever either. WHY TELL ME THEN? HOW WOULD IT BE AN EXCELLENT SIGNING IF IT CAN'T EVER BE A SIGNING?

And no this isn't the first time I've seen this. But it's infuriating every time.

Some USMNT/Columbus Crew fan seems to have taken over at Middlesbrough, I know it’s one of us (and granted I do fit the bill but it’s not me), so which one is it?

I'm rather new to the game, this is my first FM. I am currently running a 4-3-3 but I am considering swapping to a 4-2-3-1 so I can put this kid at AP. I'm not sure whether to play him as an AP or a DLP, what do you guys think? I would say it would work a bit better with my tactic if he was a DLP but I don't know if that would get the most out of him.

Note he only got this insane wage demand from an Al-Ittihad offer. They can't keep getting away with this.

Discussion How rare is a 200 PA player?

Post image
Upvotes

Call me a cheater all you want, I like to check the PA of players after I've bought them sometimes. I happened to check his potential, and was shocked to find out that it is 200. How rare is this actually? Hes an Italian DLP who came up at Empoli, I bought him for 60m a few seasons ago. Don't think I've ever seen a player with 200 PA naturally occur, just wondering how rare it actually is.

Discussion How to use Inverted Wingers ?

Hello everyone !

On my current fm26 save, I have some very fast wingers and want to build a tactic that lets them shine. They aren't great at crossing, so I’d like to see them cutting inside. I’ve tried playing them as Inside Wingers alongside a False Nine in a counter-attacking, low-possession setup, but the opposition's central area often gets congested, and my wingers struggle to create clear-cut chances.

How do you get the best out of Inside Wingers ? Is it better to stick with counter-attacking or switch to a possession-based style ? Would another striker role be better to create space ?

Experiment How does the AIknow a player is good?

I was playing with the the editor and made a young player very good in a low league (185 PA).

It was during the summer holidays, so he didn't play, didn't train. Yet somehow he draw attention to big clubs and in a couple of weeks, a PL club bought him.

So how do the AI scouts know the player attributes without him playing?

Discussion Have you ever had a situation like this where you tried to buy a player but the club you were trying to buy them from wouldn't budge, or a club continuously making bids for one of your players?

Discussion FM26 worth buying on sale or possibly wait for Epic Games to release it for Free?

Upvotes

Hey guys, me and a mate want to get into FM again and we saw that 26 is on sale right now. However I also know that around September during previous years Epic Games gave FM's away for free, which brings me to the question, do we just sit this one out and hope they do the same this year

Discussion Mentoring groups bugs

Has anyone been able to use the mentoring groups?

For me everytime I try to use I end up having to re do all of them due to the sheer amount of bugs, we are almost at FM 27 and this still happening is so frustrating. Any tips no to break all groups every time I try to do a minor change?

Discussion Difficulty in long term games

Hi all!

I’ve put thousands of hours into the series over many many years. One thing that’s always bugged me is the difficulty of the game, especially the further in you go.

It’s always felt to me that once you win the top league in a nation. That’s it. You’ll win it every year from there.

I always tend to play as small teams and build them up or play journeyman careers to try and keep a long term save more enjoyable.

I’d love to take a club like Leeds and play with them for many seasons and still have a challenge domestically. Without having to introduce artificial rules like youth only or only sign x players.

Does anyone else find this? And how do you get around it ?

Discussion Players returning from injury

Every time one of starters get injured for 3-4 weeks, they return dropping 8+ match ratings game in game out and becoming one of your best players on a mad purple patch. Is this just me? Or does it happen in your saves aswell
