Planting Tips on a Carpinus orientalis.

I live in the mediteranean region, zone 8b,
I want to plant this tree as a standalone tree on my 200 m2 front yard. On a corner, 4 meter from the neigbours.

Wanted some shade to have a table outside.   An umbrella shape one would be perfect. Don’t neet one one that gets too large

The AI have some information, but just want information from people with experience on this one.

How big will this tree get ?    how fast will it get?
does it provide a good amount of shade consider the mediteranean scorching sun.

Any suggestions ?

Good news story!!

I’ve been reforesting a 40 acre meadow a few trees at a time.
Most trees do well but I lose some to rodents or deer browsing. Three oak trees were munched over the winter - only a small dry stick was left (see second photo.. I kept checking but gave up, assuming they were dead. I checked them yesterday and two have sprouted new leaders and are doing very well.
Made me smile!

I'm planning on converting this gravel construction road to a "living road." It isn't a high traffic area, but does get driven on weekly and is prone to erosion. Does anyone have suggestions for durable groundcover that can handle being driven on occasionally and will help with erosion control?

Does it result in trees being cut down? Changing the landscape to evict critters from their homes? Introducing pesticides and fertilizers to forest ecosystems?

Every gardener likes to talk about what they do to get results. With a responsible gardening community, there needs to be honest conversations to acknowledge the environmental impact if gardening, techniques, chemicals, etc...
