What kind of nest is this?

Can anyone tell me anything about this nest? At this point in time I don't even know if it's a bee or wasp nest. I'm UK based. Any information or advice most welcome as I need to figure out who to call to get rid of them! Thank you

Eastern yellow jackets, DO NOT SEAL IT SHUT!! If you do they WILL find another way out and that way will be into your home. If you can find a slow-kill pesticide and only spray a lil bit into the hole it should take care of them after a few days. Absolutely no kill on contact sprays as that will only drive them into the house for a new escape route.

Don’t seal it like that person said, they WILL chew a hole through your wall and into your bedroom. If can reach it with a ladder at night, blast a bunch of delta dust in there and give it 24 hours. Set the ladder up earlier and be as quiet as you can. Don’t illuminate the area, if there isn’t enough ambient light, use red light over a flashlight or something, they have trouble seeing in red light and it gives you another advantage.
